If we're getting free stuff, I want the team.
Congrats, you're now an important member of Jody's bodyguard team. There are expectations, and Jody is requesting a special off-the-books meeting with you soon...

This.

While I am sure part of the reason dame is asking out is partially about not getting the supporting cast he thinks he needs, i think the more this drags on and the little tidbits of how dame says things, doesnt show his wife or how she disappeared from social or how coaches and or reporters have said things about him losing half his money and that not all decisions are basketball decisions. It's not hard to tell that something is going on with his life. And whatever it is has him dead set on Miami. I don't think people want to talk about his marriage, but people want to know why he inherently flipped on a dime, and people are people and they are going to speculate and read in between the lines even if it isnt necessarily PC.

How did he flip on a dime when he warned Blazers management publicly and behind close doors if they continue a youth movement then he’s out?

Dear God WTF is going on in this thread?

i guess more like flipped on a dime to put the organization he loved in a bind where they can only have one trade partner currently... and also essentially flip on his brand identity as a whole.

Oh man you missed queen last night. Absolutely incredible!!
I have all weekend passes. Its walking distance from my place. Stone In Love is also incredible. Sewn them a few times. Kevin, the lead singer, mixed and mastered my album. Jason fellman, the drummer, is the coordinator of harefest
Just saw Barracuda. They were awesome. Getting ready to see Stone In Love. This has been a blast!

I apologize for not being more diligent stopping the personal insults. No need to take the week off.
I haven't been diligent, and have taken the week off, but that's because my kid got married yesterday, so I've been busy. But I'm back now, baby!!

He flipped on a dime being loyal to the franchise because they wouldn't/couldn't do the impossible... & then went scorched earth. Of course management told him what he wanted to hear, an expected part of their job is to keep their best players happy. Of course management tried to make the impossible happen (surprise! No one wanted to trade superstars for Portland's scrap heap of talent). Thank goodness they didn't trade picks for mediocre vets, that was the previous (fired) management's mode of operation. If Portland had traded the #3 for the next RoCo or Evan Turner, what guarantee do they have that Dame won't pull this oft threatened self centered outta here act regardless leaving Portland holding the bag of another overpaid vet and no promising young stud? What cure all trade did they leave on the table? Dude is 1 year in on a supermax contract to play for the Portland Trailblazers. Either he signed that contract fully knowing that they'd have pretty much no chance of landing the sort of players that would change the team's trajectory or he's an idiot. He's not an idiot. Giving him credit for that, it seems this has been the plan for quite a while now.

The catch 22 situation that current management was in was noted by many here as a completely obvious oncoming conflict of interests. Dame's side certainly saw it coming for miles. I expected he'd want out but also expected he'd handle his exit with class. I was completely wrong on that.

Which brings me back to the point of Hurt people, hurt people (or organizations) while this was certainly somewhat foreseen by most people but i think a lot of people were hoping or thinking that dame is a smart and while hes said before and hes not a GM type of guy you would think that he could see that the route cronin took while not the most ideal for what dame wanted was the probably on the better side of options we had and wouldnt go scorched earth to try and bend his way to one team only.

ohh yeah it has!!! We showed up just after barracuda, but ive seen them before. Motorbreath had a rough set.
Journey, as always did not disappoint. Consummate professionals. Ran into Kevin, the singer, on the way out and said hi and felt bad because he asked if we were staying for floyd and we weren't.
I had to go kick people off my lawn cause im an old fart! Lol.

Is this like a festival of cover bands or something?

the mother of all tribute band festivals.

not sure if the bulk of the music genre is your style but the bands are top notch performers. Three stages.
As a fellow musician, im sure you would have respect for what just went down in Canby! Lol.

Oh and Boston killed it too. Played thier whole first album!!!

Id say there was probably 3-4k people on Friday night closer to 5k last night. does that seem about right @42N8Bounce ?

I love a good cover band! Saw Australian Pink Floyd back in the mid 00’s… I think an all woman AC/DC cover band opened for them?

I had to know because of course a Metallica cover band would be a bit of a train wreck; just like the original back in the 80s lol!

Yep. Ive seen that band play at dantes you are refering to.
Lol. Yeah. Motorbreath is really good. Ive opened up for them when i was in the band TheDogTribe. Ut they had the hottest time slot and had technical issues from the get go. Ive seen them many times and this was one of their lesser performances.
Van halen and gnr were damned good as well though.

overall with how it was run combine with the bands, best concert festival ive ever gone to.
Peaceful and positive energy. Lines got a little long during dinner time yesterday bit otherwise no long lines anywhere. Hand washing stations, free water, etc. just very well run.

edit: if a mod wants to move these posts to the OT, titling something like harefest 11 or something.
I thought id give you guys something to do for once! :) @SlyPokerDog

Yep. It was a good sized crowd, but it didn’t feel too crowded. Plenty of locations to put out a blanket and chair and enjoy.

Assuming all of this is true.

Why didn’t management notice what *some* of us *dumb* forum members noticed, and say, “yeah, we can’t do this” and trade Dame *years* ago?

People are completely letting Joe off the hook here. If he was saying stuff to keep the star happy, knowing good and well he couldn’t do it, WHY NOT TRADE DAME?

Just unbelievably bad management.
