Are you suggesting the Blazers have received better offers than have been rumored?Do you even know what those assets offered are? How do you know if they are good enough or not?
Imagine Scoot, Sharpe/Ant, Thybulle/Rupert, Grant/Murray with a top-notch, young center gained in a Dame trade.
If Cronin could do that, he should get some kind of Harry Potter wizardry award. That would be close to scary black magic.
That is why the Blazers have to be patient. The reward could be mind-blowing.

No because none of us knowAre you suggesting the Blazers have received better offers than have been rumored?
We can agree that Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler weren't going to end up in Portland. We know that.No because none of us know
Well, I haven't seen any rumored offers that are worth it.No because none of us know
Sure there is. Dame playing a second next season for Portland could cost us someone special in the draftWe can agree that Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler weren't going to end up in Portland. We know that.
There was no reason to rush a trade.
Seen? No.Well, I haven't seen any rumored offers that are worth it.
Have you seen something rumored that Portland should have accepted by now?
Seen? No.
Tasted?Felt?
Me neither.Seen? No.

Bringing either Sharpe or Scoit off the bench could sour them on Portland
The someone "special" in a draft was three months ago. The 2024 draft just doesnt have that.
I'm really not worried at all about a disgruntled Dame leading this roster to a bunch of early season wins. Odd that you actually posted this.
I'm not saying having Dame start for the Blazers next year makes sense or is something I'd aim for. Better to just get a trade done if we can get useful value.
The reason to hold off doing a Dame trade the next few weeks is if we think there is more value coming back in December or at the deadline - not trying to immediately tank in October with a roster that needs zero assistance to tank.
Tasted?
So that’s what that wasSmelled?
ExactlyMe neither.
I wish there had been some attribution to the analysis portion of that "article". With statements like:Trail Blazers, Lillard reportedly both ready for him to come to training camp if no trade

At least Woj didn't refresh his "Dame is really old and gets paid too much" narrative. I understand the PR around devaluing Lillard's trade value. It makes the return package from Heat look amazing.
But in the overall picture of getting the best value for trading Lillard, doesn't hiding Dame's amazing skillset cause a negative influence?
I thought Blazer media would be going off on incredible games Lillard played last year. The guy averaged 37ppg through January & February! Dame busted the Rockets in the most effecient 71 game in NBA History!!
"Look how amazing this player is" would work better in Dame trade value, then "he's short and old, sucks at D, chokes in the playoffs", followed by not applying over a dozen franchise enforced tank games in weak attempts to discredit Lillard as an injury prone player.

...it really feels like this was written by Fentress. A lot of declarative opinions presented as incontrovertible fact. I despise "reporting" like this.
- "Portland can talk all they want about another team jumping into the mix but that team does not exist."
- "he's also 33 years old with four years and $216.2 million remaining on his contract. No team other than Miami has shown any interest because of that."
- "The trade package Portland thinks it deserves for Lillard is not out there and waiting isn't going to change that."
- "it is in their best interest to turn the page and move on to what is next. This deal could still get done before camp starts (or early into camp), which would be best for all parties"
...it really feels like this was written by Fentress.
It has the look of an opinion piece ghost-written by Pat Riley
Probably a little better.... but I don't like it. It's not a winning formula moving forward. It’s the 3 headed guard monster. Is this better than Dame-CJ- Powell?
Fentress at this point is coming across as a troll.I wish there had been some attribution to the analysis portion of that "article". With statements like:
