I don't think it's good news or bad news. Looks more like no news except that Portland 'may' be talking to 3rd teams to see what Herro is worth. Maybe Lowry too. That's something Miami should have been doing

Yeah, you would think that Miami would be the more motivated party to get the deal done....thus inquiring about interest for Herro from other teams. Maybe they don't really want teams in the East getting Herro.

today's Dame trade talk on twitter has made fans over on Blazers Edge lose their marbles.

A) Dame should forfeit his contract

B) Miami totally sucked last year

C) Commissioner Silver loves the Blazers so much, the new penalties for benching All-Stars does not apply in Portland.

any time you think S2 has collectively lost it's marbles, all you have to do is visit Blazer's Edge for some perspective; it's a loony bin

the best one I saw... when Damian gets to camp, he's is going to love the "new look" Blazers team. It will inspire his confindence, and Lillard play the most wonderous basketball of his career. Lead the NBA in scoring.

What's better for the development of Scoot ?

playing him out of position at SG/SF with Lillard, in the high pressure cooker to win NBA games?

Or giving Scoot max opportunity to play PG, low pressure atmosphere, learn the correct skillset, and grow chemistry with his young teammates?

Bad sign for the Blazers if he does play for us and lead the league in scoring, means others aren’t stepping up and contributing.

If he isn’t traded before the season starts, I hope Billups enforces a faster paced team ball rather than yet another year of Dame walking it up the court and the Blazers playing Dame & the Dumplings ball.

Assuming Dame is still here, I’d lean toward Scoot-pg & Dame at sg with Ant & Shae getting their fair share of minutes as well (at least Shae, not an Ant fan so don’t care much there).

the Blazers did try to run it more last season. But a couple things stood out that prevented more transition opportunities.

1. The opponents dunked it on Portland, a lot. There's usually a slight delay after a dunk. The defense has to shake off the cobwebs.

2. The opponents usually had big, fast, stronger players on their basketball team. I hate that.

3. Opponent Offensive rebounds. Now I don't know where Portland stood in the final tally, but I saw lots of smaller Blazers struggling in the tippy tap category.

4. general made baskets given up by defense. The Blazers gave up a lot of buckets. After most made baskets, the opponent is booking down court to reset the defense. The change of possession takes a few seconds to collect and inbound. Some of these NBA players are paid to be sneaky. They lurk around the inbound targets, pester the transition offense, and will steal the ball if the Blazers aren't careful.

The Blazers weren't bad in the steals department last year. They played in zone coverage with guards on the baseline. Steals allowed the team to find a guard quickly and push the entire unit forward. I think the Blazers were middle of the pack in steals and fast break points. When the defense did work, the Blazers did fine in transition. But getting stops was kinda an issue last year. Blazers ranked 28th in points allowed if I'm correct.

what about Keon??
He's got untapped 1st round value.
6'3" 170lb Keon at Center. 5 guard lineups. Go for it !!

deep 3s lead to long rebounds and transition buckets for the other team..it was a big problem and has been since offensive rebounding machines Ed Davis or Enes Kanter left.

sometimes those long rebounds off bricks got downright ugly. Lillard & Anfernee were the only guys back on defense with a "temporary sheriff" rim protection badge.

Still working at it.

Hopefully, at least some of the trade discussions Woj spoke about did not include Miami at all. I wouldn’t even mind if the Heat got Simons, instead. Nothing against them — they just shouldn’t get Lillard.

And as much as I love Dame and want him in a good situation, I don't think Dame should get to go to Miami because while it's very well established that superstars do get traded when they demand one, when you're under contract for four more seasons you don't get to dictate the exact team you go to.

Chauncey at the Colorado/Colorado State game with Kyle Lowry! Kyle Lowry has no ties that I know of to Colorado.

Edit: Could he be getting some quality time with his on floor assistant coach for next season?

Probably nothing, but Chauncey Billups (CU alum) is in a box at the CU/CSU game with Kyle Lowry.

...it's definitely something because as soon as Billups realized he was on TV he got up and moved away quickly -- don't get fined coach!

Down 21-14 at half to CSU. Does Billups' very presence inspire tanking in the Colorado football team?

So what, Joe already took the shit Mia deal and is just waiting to announce it till the last possible second? Why else would Lowry be there?

Untrue. The deal is not yet agreed to. I will say some names mentioned in the deal aren’t super happy about Portland. I know that to be fact. Lowry was probably there because Prime is turning Boulder into an event

As in some names aren’t happy about GOING to Portland? Or some names are not gonna make Portland happy?
