Getting KAT would be like magically converting Damian Lillard into a younger PF/C. That's what KAT is an all offense big man like Dame is an All offense PG, and he's on a massive contract. This alone makes sense given that we just drafted Scoot.

But he's been hurt quite a bit the past four years, playing in 35, 74, 50 and and 29 games. His contract also extends into the 1st year when Shadeon may be getting a big pay day. I'd rather get Ayton.

Agreed Ayton is the better option of the two for Portland. Much better defender at half the price. For offensive fit reasons, I do like that both of these guys have an outside threat to pull a Big out of the paint

BRK wouldn’t do that. I’ve seen reports they aren’t looking to move off Simmons anymore and the years on his contract are dwindling down. Simmons is no longer really a ‘buy-low’ player, Ayton is now the new Simmons as a low risk high reward player. Miami will not be able to move off that Robinson contract. Nets aren’t going to take Robinson’s contract, trade a 1st, and trade DFS which could be had with a late 1st just for Tyler Herro.

DFS also doesn’t make sense for Indy.
