It was painfully (pun intended) obvious that he was hurt. He was having problems blowing by defenders like Dylan Windler and his jump shots were consistently coming up short.

By the way, now that we know Dame has been hurt, what is CJ's excuse???

Good on the medical staff.....also gives us a chance to get our other guards some burn and gain some confidence....I don't know much about the injury but 10 days of rest can fix a lot of strains and bruises, etc

Is it though? I have heard rumors of an abdominal injury to Dame since the Olympics.

He had the same issue long before that...it was really bothering him when we went to 4 OTs against Denver....CJ stepped up in that series...Dame said he's had this for something like 4 years...I don't think it's new at all...he's said as much.

i dunno if rest will help. he had like 2 months off it and was still not better.

Not as silly as those who wanted to trade him after 5 games, injury or not.

Actually, those people look smarter now than a day ago ... for however much that is worth. His trade value has likely declined from where it was the first week of the season.

You do realize the posters who wanted to trade him were the ones who thought he wasn't hurt and that something else caused his decline?

smart move by the front office, dont let him play, otherwise he will tank his value even more

take for him what you can, hes done

Time for Ant to really step it up. I'm expecting at least 30min/game from Ant.
I'm more looking forward to him building on his confidence and looking poised out there. He's getting there, that's for sure. (Not bad for a player some thought had no business being in the league before the season started)

Good to see a step in the right direction towards protecting the rest of Dame's career but I'm worried 10 days won't be enough and if they'll do another MRI before he returns or just let Dame (who is too tough for his own good) tell them he's ready. He already did the relative rest and strengthening exercises that are the first treatment option for this injury and they didn't work. So I hope he's better soon but moreso I hope he and the team do whatever it takes for him to be better for good or at least for longer.

i believe you meant to say "realistic"
It's realistic of you to say that Dame is done? Seriously?!? You give takes that are so way off in here all of the time so this isn't surprising but do yourself a favor and back off the "Dame is done" ledge. Give me some other players whose careers were ended by abdominal tendinopathy.

yep, and if the time off between the Olympics and the season beginning was not enough to get healed one has to ask how much time is really needed to heal this? and will rest really take care of it or are more serious alternatives necessary? Also hasn't he dealt with this since the reg season began given his horrific start? And why are waiting till now to address this? Lot of questions and no easy answers

Didnt you say he wasn’t hurt? Now seems a good time for you and others who talked shit to those of us who correctly said he was injured, to retract statement and maybe, if one had the balls say “whoops, sorry about that!”.

you cant be serious right?? Actually expecting most people here to actually admit being wrong?

lol. Dude you actually made me laugh! Good one!

agreed. Time to shine. These are the moments where young guys break out. His defense has looked improved to me as well. Im hoping/expecting some good things from him during this stretch.

I'd be surprised if surgery is recommended. I doubt his intestine is protruding from the abdominal wall or anything like that.

sure sounds like it's inflamed, so there are several types of physio-therapy that can be used. Besides that, the scar tissue from surgery on a muscle the size of the abdomen can cause as much inflammation as the injury itself. Surgeries on muscles can weaken the muscle as often a strengthen it

my uneducated hunch is if the condition was severe enough to warrant surgery, he could not have played at all over the first 20 games

You are correct about surgeries and scar tissue issues. Ive had double hernia surgery & prostate surgery and Ive had issues with inflammation and sever cramping that will bring you to your knees. Its brought on by too much abdominal workout and lifting.
The only thing that helps is rest.
