Portland will receive Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, Milwaukee's 2029 unprotected first-round draft pick, and unprotected Milwaukee swap rights in 2028 and 2030, sources told Wojnarowski.

Oh. Interesting.

Wait, Dame's contract is up in 2028 right? or 2027? He'll be 38 yeah? Giannis will be 33/34 (so where dame is now). Thats interesting. It'll be super intriguing to see where Giannis is skill wise in 4 years. Does he hold up?

When it comes time to cash in on these picks, Giannis will be 34 and Dame will be 39....

I'll wait until 2030 to grade this trade!

But of course.

But we can grade now too. And its a good haul. Cant have hindsight trade grades when hindsight isnt achievable.

I think they keep Jrue until the trade deadline. I'm good with that because he can teach Scoot quite a bit.
There will be a contender that wants Jrue is my thinking here.
Ayton could be a nice piece. Hope that works out well also.

Happy for Dame getting to play with Giannis. Hope Stotts and company all prevail in the east.
I got a team other than the Blazers to root for right now.

Exactly. I was already cheering for Milwaukee as my 2nd team so this is really nice.

I see your vision of keeping Jrue until the TD. Im not opposed to it at all.

I agree... I was being sarcastic, which is ALWAYS a bad move in writing, on a message board, without green font.... I'll own that, my bad!

Yeah, Milwaukee has always been the Portland of the east for me.
So what are the power rankings now?

1. Portland Portland
2. Milwaukee Portland
3. Minnesota Portland

Minnesota really fell off after that Martel Webster/Dante Cunningham/Brandon Roy era

There is just no way any Dame hate would last for long. He's an icon in this city, and always will be.

Eh. I'd question it if the miami trade went through. There'd be a whole different vibe in this message board at least.

Minnesota? No thanks.

That's absolutely fantastic for the future of the franchise. We did okay short-term, considering the circumstances, but Joe did great for the long-term. Plus, those picks can be used in trades any time over the next five years, as needed. Maybe even tomorrow :)

Well I was thinking as typing. Sounds like they might still move him? I guess that works well also.
I'm good with this trade. Hope they can continue to build a good team.
Go Blazers!

Im struggling to find out how people are seeing this as a bad trade. ESPECIALLY considering we can still extract some value from Jrue. And these picks that far out after Giannis/Dame are done and past their prime (Well dame maybe more so than Giannis, but wh0 knows)

I think, all things considered, this is more than a fair haul for a bloated contract like Dames.
Jrue's value in the Eastern Conference just went up with Lillard's arrival in Milwaukee.
