You know Olshey; he likes to keep everybody happy!
Unless the Knicks blow us away. There isn't a star with the superstar potential that Simmons would bring us, that's on the market and Philly is a place where Dame would contend next season. So even though it's not listed. It is the most logical place to get a package that starts with Simmons.

Jaylen Brown is the only player I'm interested in. Otherwise, just give me picks.

Same. Simmons prove he can’t be the #1 option. Great defender, just not someone worth building around and getting headaches from.
Dame for Wiseman, Wiggins, #7, #14 would be fun
Dame for #1, Grant, and Cory Joseph
Dame for #2, Wood, and Gordon.

Why is Giannis someone worth building around but Simmons isn't?

The second and third deals don't make sense since those teams would be even worse with Dame.

I'm looking at Brown, 3 firsts and 2 swaps. They can have Covington too.

Why is Giannis someone worth building around but Simmons isn't?
cuz Giannis continually works on his game and isn't afraid to fail because of the effort he has put into getting better? They're not even in the same breath of players. I love Ben irrationally, but it's hard to deny that he has gotten worse every single year in the NBA.

Giannis' trajectory has been the exact opposite.

Ridiculous comparison.

Come back to me when Simmons averages 30/14/6. They're not really similar players at all, no matter how much you try to make the comparison.
Giannis hasn't had to try and put those numbers up with Embiid in his way. Just saying that Simmons size, athleticism, and ability to pass, dribble and drive make him a freakish talent that has been being forced to play around a much more demanding talent in Embiid.

Yeah, because he can't.

Why do we need to honor his preferred destinations? Id deal him and nurk for sabonis and brogdan.

Uhh Embiid is literally the perfect big man to play next to Simmons. That guy can shoot 3s very well. He done more to work around Simmons than Simmons has to work around him

No joke though, if we trade Dame I’m irrationally excited to see what Nassir Little can do with a 30% usage rate.

Simmons makes the most sense.

CJ
Powell
Simmons
RoCo
Nurk

We go from one of the worst defenses in the league to one of the bests. I love Dame but this team ain't winning shit running it back so I'd rather trade Lillard than do nothing.

I could get on board with Wiseman, Wiggins, #7, #14, and two future picks for Dame and Nurkic if that meant you could turn #7 + future GSW pick + Covington into Jalen Suggs and Chris Boucher. If Norman goes to Miami, good chance we could get Herro or a pick in a sign-and-trade. See if Phili can will be down for Simmons for CJ + a lotto-protected 1st + a GSW 1st.

A team of
Suggs/Simons/Wiggins/Simmons/Boucher + Nas/Herro/Wiseman/#14 will probably be inexperienced enough to get a high pick next year. But Wiggins would essentially be here for one full year with a high possibly of being bought out in 2022-23.

With a roster like this, it won’t be a good season, but it’ll certainly be an interesting season. We’ll get to find out if
1) Simmons can dominate while not being the primary ball handler
2) Simons is a starting SG
3) Nas can end the season as starting SF

High on Suggs/Simons/Nas, lowest on Herro who isn’t a terrible player and is still young. I think this could turn into a possible quick rebuild. A part of me also just says lets rip off the bandaid already and start over.

On a sidenote, I like Dame for #2/Wood/Gordon too. Although I don’t know the likelihood of that happening. The HOU situation looks bleak, not sure if Dame would have enough to win there.

I am always open to trading any Blazer if it improves the team. Dame is 31. As constructed, Neil has backed the roster into a corner & Portland isn't competing for a title anytime soon... I'm sure everyone on the team knows this. While I love & truly appreciate DL, I'll be rooting for the team well after he's retired. That said, in no way in hell do I trust Soapy to successfully orchestrate the sort of full roster shakeup this would entail & it doesn't look like he's being pushed out. Quite the pickle.

New ownership is needed soon, imo.

Lakersground fans are realistic and logical.

Laker fans on Twitter are completely delusional.

The idea that the Lakers have a shot at Dame, if we blow keeping him, is so incredibly delusional. Everyone in the NBA would want Dame and be willing to trade all stars to get him.

Any Laker call proposing a trade for Dame that doesn’t include AD in the first sentence would be a very brief conversation.

I watched the presser again and a couple comments he made besides the urgency factor stood out as well, along with him being the calm cool and collected dude he is.
- said all this wasnt coming from him as it wasnt before.
- Everyone else is creating the drama, not him.
- see's himself in a blazer uni next year
- not a bad team a good team, great city a lot of positives

Saw where Casey H talked to him about a new house he's building in Lake O and the business's

This guy good be the Governor of Oregon One Day and hopefully part owner of the storied franchise.

Dame has it made in Portland but he's earned the right to do as he wishes....

Look at other NBA rosters without their best player, are the Blazers that much worse? I'm sure a few teams are better but the majority are much worse I'd reckon. It's not easy constructing a roster with even one allstar let alone multiple.

The Blazers traded away two firsts for RoCo. Maybe they could do another trade like that.

But if Lillard will only be happy with a super team then maybe we should trade him.

Lillard not solving traps, sucking on defense, and having an iso offense is a big reason for the playoff losses. Yes there are others to blame too.

I dont want to see the team trade away more picks and we are in the same spot a year from now which seems like a very plausible end to this "urgency" mantra
