He and Covington are pretty disruptive in the passing lanes. I like going after defense rather than having to get incredible production from the backcourt to squeak out wins.
 
It’s been awhile since we had a good garbage man on this roster. Someone who runs the floor, gets the loose balls, cleans up the glass. If he’s that with plus D and upside then it’s fine. We would all prefer the better player but as someone mentioned I doubt he’s on the floor in crunch time. I HIGHLY doubt Ibaka(like the rest of the PFs we wanted) were/are in our price range. I do wish the second year was a team option however.

Same logic as giving Turner 70 million.

1) paying for young and healthy. 5 mil was foolishness.
2) even if you do take the projected 5 mil, you need to compare that the coming year salary of 9 mil, not the 2 year.
3) Portland pays a premium since it’s small market and not a hot spot.
4) fits a need. Dame/CJ aren’t good on D but need to have energy come Dame-Time. Being able to throw multiple defensive wings out there will preserve the abilities of our true star.

I don’t think Whiteside was ever being traded. He doesn’t have the value and is better coming off the books. Save money that way and spend the MLE. There’s only so many players we can have and even few who can get minutes. Only real need left is PG backup.
 
So Derrick Jones Jr. is going to be our Harkless Mk. II, just as RoCo is Aminu II? Okay.
 
Terrible, Terrible signing. I was ready to give NO huge probs but i knew he can stil fuck things up. This dude shot 22% from 3, for how many years now we have seen in the Playoffs that at least one of our wings was not guarded and that killed us. Sigh

Seems like they are just trying to replicate the 18-19 team.

Trent = Curry
DJJ = Harkless
RoCo = Aminu

I think in a vacuum, every dude on the left is slightly better than the one on the right.
 
Still no one will beat the Lakers. Shroeder, Trez and Matthews with AD and Lebron.... geee

Man the way Trent has been improving, I could see him adding a lot of shots to his arsenal and being far better than Seth, especially considering Trent being able to play defense against guys 1-3. I do like what we have on this roster.
