Son don't confuse buying ships with driving ships.
If I asked you how much you spent on your car, you wouldn't tell me how fucking expensive gasoline is! Or would you?
If I said that it cost more to buy a car than it does a house, I wouldn't act like someone asking me to prove it was crazy.
I say this because what you said, and how you said it, did not isolate the cost of ships as the main draw of your argument.
You said "Imagine this. Barrack Obama spent more money rescuing GM and Chrysler than the previous 10 President spent on the United States Navy, including all of the Nimitz class carriers.
But it hasn't meant a damn thing to the City of Detroit.".
And if you meant something about the TOTAL cost of ships from the 10 Presidents, you really worded it poorly. And probably should've said "you know what? I worded that poorly. What I MEANT to say was.."
And even if you did word it poorly, it's such a poor analogy that it makes no sense to bring it up as if it was a valid point.
A better point would be something like the "amount of the bailout is actually less than the cost of the Afghanistan War".
It would be much easier to just admit you worded it poorly, or got caught up in a hyperbole, or didn't actually look up what you said (instead of calling me 'son'...which is a direct sign of disrespect, something I haven't done towards you).
