Step 1: receive govt benefits through the VA

>>I value my time in the Navy. But I would rather have retained my Health care benefit I earned in private business than use the VA benefits I qualified to receive. I do not expect you to know what those qualification are, but I can advise you, you probably don't want any. But in the first place, Obama took care of that. In the second case, I qualified before the he was born.

Step 2: pay no taxes
>>> Ha! Have you ever paid 77% income tax? I suggest you would not like it. It also hampers the hell out of you getting ready of for the next phase.

Step 3: receive checks from the govt every month.
>>> That is our system that you folk voted to receive. It would not be my plan if I were to make the plan.
Now that we are this far into this system, it would be very difficult to alter course. Difficult to change it maybe, but it maybe more difficult to continue.

When you make a statement and someone calls bull and then you admit it was a lie then it becomes bull shit. :bgrin:

Are you telling us you paid around $55k in taxes that year? :smiley-195517897341

Calling bullshit isn't an insult. That isnt attacking you, it is attacking a post.

If someone said, "you're a piece of shit." That is an insult.

I see. Well then it doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense since the main point was a question for you.
Do you remember the question?

I would never personally attack shit like that. :smiley-smiley-049:

Not a personal insult. Was talking about your post. You comfirmed I was correct making it fact.

You paid $55,896 in taxes on $82,200 no damn way

Boo fucking who. Even if he did, back then with the remaining 27,000 he could have bought a house back then. How many people can buy a house with their take home today after taxes?

I never said what I paid. I asked someone if they had ever paid that percentage. But I admit I did not form the question quite accurately has I have explained.

The point was.... Well forget that, can you detect the point? How would you like to pay that sort of tax?
Lets just say 65% + 11% State tax, +self employment tax? Do think that would make you feel real good? Work hard to improve your business, put more hands to work?

"Even if he did, he could've bought two houses with the money he paid the government and let two homeless families live there rent-free and come out ahead in the deal. Thanks, IRS." Keep charity local.

No, because there weren't any homeless people back then. Everyone had two kids and a Chevrolet, and mom made apple pie for the neighborhood kids and still had something for daddy when he got home from work.

I stand corrected. Why were taxes so high, then?

But, he wouldnt have. It would have gone for blow and hookers.

...YEAH BABY ! !

Most likely gross was used due to tax rates being different in other states.

Federal Tax rates and Federal Tax cuts are not different in other states.

Gross was used to hide the obvious boon to Americans, especially middle-class workers, because it's a biased article filled with distortions and silly doomsday predictions.

...I have not talked to any middle class individual who has noticed an appreciable increase in take home pay including my wife....I'd also be willing to bet that the usual tax year refund will not be a big as before, And anyone who believes that big business and the rich were not the main beneficiaries of Trump's tax bill are in full blown denial.

I have sold several homes recently to first time buyers who named Trump's tax cuts and his economic strategy as the reasons they were able to finally grasp the American Dream.

Lava country, no coal here.

But since Trump was elected businesses have nearly doubled in number in our small town, Real Estate has increased in value by around 30% in general, 2 long dormant subdivisions are struggling to build homes fast enough to meet demand, St Charles has built our second healthcare center, and Hwy 97 is undergoing a major upgrade.

More economic activity than we've had here since the 80's.

There is no economic "boon" for the middle class. All but the rich got peanuts while the rich got caviar
