Maybe I should move this to the (dead) Ducks forum?

Whoa, you gotta think the Pac 12 is dead now, Oregon will have to try to go with them, and Washington I would assume

USC and UCLA are tired of Oregon recruiting so well in Southern Cal. LOL. This is about leverage and it's about money

there is already some chatter that the Big-10 prefers USC and Oregon rather than USC and UCLA. Oregon and Washington might just become temporary friends now. The Big-10 traditionally has only added AAU universities and there are only 4 AAU universities in the Pac-12: USC, UCLA, Oregon, Wahington

I'm not sure how credible this is...may very well be fake news, especially the stuff about a near decision:

That's the end of the Pacific Conference if that is the case....so soon after they hired a commissioner who had a clue.

How are so many teams ditching the PAC-12 at the same time? What happened? What changed?

I have zero faith in humanity nor in American greed. We live in an oligarchy, no one gives a fuck about poor people unless they represent themselves as some "protected BULLSHIT identity", but EVERYTHING is for sale to the highest bigger.

how is this related? Or you just looking to bitch in as many threads as possible?

Fox offered USC boatloads to switch conferences so they'd have more marketable matchups. UCLA was included so the Pac 12 just lost 2nd largest media market in the country. While college basketball generates enough to pay their freight, college football pays for all the other sports. This changes everything for the remaining 10 schools.

Read rumblings that the new superconference Big 10 might land Notre Dame and a plus one next, & UO is rumored to be that one.

Sounds like the Big Ten is after Notre Dame and either UNC or Miami next, not Oregon or UW … although they could follow up with those teams as well.

Big Ten is negotiating a media rights package right now supposedly worth 1.5bn+. Some have speculated that networks reached out to USC/UCLA on behalf of the B10 because they want more matchups to justify the media rights package.

Fox has been pushing for this for a while.

The Pac (12? 10?) should just merge with the Big Ten and rename it the Big Pac.

You would have enough of a TV market to demand two guaranteed spots for when the NCAA finally expands the football playoffs.
