Evan Turner becomes a Blazer

I agree. That's why I like the draft. Tank like we did Dames rookie year that last month

How you think we got Cj guys
Well, we got Dame by trading a guy near the end of his prime to a team that was capped out and liked veteran presence more than young players and draft picks.
Now we have about 6 guys who are entering/in their prime who aren't among our two best players.

the "state of our organization" is OREGON, hence as it has been for seemingly ever FA's don't seem to want to come here so we had to pay perhaps 3 mil over mkt, not that bad. I deal in reality and he will make us better

Sorry if some of us wanted to improve our situation. This off season was just a reminder that we're the same old shit, no matter what happens. Humbling. Disappointing. Depressing.

Another thing to note, in Olshey tenure we have NEVER gotten anyone we have been rumored to pursue. Everyone we have gotten has come out of left field AFTER our targets have signed elsewhere. If that isn't an indictment of Portland I don't know what is.

Your on a roll. Except I don't really blame Olshey. He works in a trash market.

Think about this he excels in the hardest part of the game which is scouting talent. After you get talent and shown it works on the court for the most part the easy part should be to tell the nice FA names.

That only tells me the poor guy just works in a terrible market. I really don't fault Olshey. In fact I feel bad for him. He would kill it in a better market..

Careeer 30.5% 3pt shooter on over an attempt per game.

Reminiscent of Aminu.

How long have you been a fan of this team? You should know better than to get all riled up about free agents.

You know, whenever you think about how today has sucked, think that Danny Ainge 1 week ago had 8 draft picks this year, tons of cap space and intent to get at least two of Jimmy Butler, Kevin Love, Dwight Howard, Kevin Durant and Al Horford.

They have Jaylen Brown, 5 dudes you never heard of (nor will again) and lost their 6th man. Howard is signed, Durant's not going to BOS (though they DID get a meeting!), they likely don't have the assets for Love anymore (unless Brown is LeBron's Shabazz Napier 2016), and CHI told them No on Butler. Horford's still out there, I guess...

Schhhh! don't u know the grass is always greener in Boston?

Kent Bazemore got the same deal as Turner. Still not good, but I would have rather had him for the $$$

Well Jaylen Brown might be a star. Thats the point. A city like Portland has to get stars the old fashion way like drafting and HOPE he becomes a star like Roy was, Lillard was, etc

Again this season will be a forever case study on why it's pointless to win meaningless games in a meaningless season and get to the playoffs just to say we got to the playoffs. Instead we should enjoy the seaosn like we did, then around the last month or so pull the fucking plug like we did Dames rookie year.

That's how Cj got here. With the 10th pick at that!

Roll the dice in the draft. Because rolling the dice in the playoffs or free agency does not work for us

Nobody here will ever agree with your dumb thinking of getting stars or good role players through the draft. Nothing is promised. It's luck most of the time. Drop that shit.

You're only saying this b/c they traded the pick. If they didn't, would you have said tank for the 9th pick b/c 18 is too bad?

I don't think tanking two years in a row to bank on hope, rather than win as much as possible with the team we have, is a good way to get new FAs or keep our team motivated.

Dude it's literally a better chance than free agency for us. LITERALLY

Take this season as a case study. It's a perfect example.

Having a star, an up and coming star, coach of the year runner up, making noise in the playoffs DOESNT EVEN WORK.

I would rather roll the dice on the draft

Really? I thought we got our star the EXACT same way Boston got Jaylen Brown--by fleecing the Nets.

Sweet. So crush NO for trading the future to get Afflalo. Crush him for not getting draft picks for other players. Don't crush the team for playing as hard as they can and winning more than most thought on the way.

So why aren't we resigning Hendo again? I doubt he's going to get $70 million from anyone and he's just as talented (and about the same age) as Turner. And Hendo actually has a decent shot outside of 10 feet.

Because a player that can create for others was a huge need for us. Henderson isn't that
