http://www.allheadlinenews.com/arti... For LeBron; Fans Want 'King' To Join Blazers
AHN Sports Staff
Portland, OR, United States (AHN) - Portland Trail Blazers basketball fans will stage a rally Sunday on the sidewalk around the Rose Garden to woo this summer’s top free agent; Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James.
Blazers fan and event organizer David Chitsazan said a rally will be held Sunday around Memorial Coliseum and the Rose Garden to show their interest in acquiring the reigning two-time MVP.
"We will remain on that city block," Chitsazan told Oregon Live.com via e-mail. "The event was approved by City of Portland Special Events Coordinator Allison Madsen."
The event also follows a similar gathering in Akron, Ohio as fans there feted 'The King' in his hometown Saturday perhaps in an effort to get him to re-sign with the Cavs.
LeBron showed near the event and said a few words of thanks to the crowd, but did not address his impending free-agency.
Speculation on James playing for the Blazers next season erupted after veteran NBA writer Sam Smith induced a sign-and-trade scenario involving James and Blazers centers Joel Przybilla and former No.1 pick Greg Oden.
James will likely opt out from his final contact years with the Cavaliers on July 1 to become the alpha-dog of an incredibly talented free agency class, which also includes Dirk Nowitzki, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and Joe Johnson.
