I think Meyers, Harkless, and CJ are all movable pieces.

That's a lot of salary.
Movable for...little salary in return? I don't know about that.

I'm not sure why I was thinking about this earlier but I had this just pop in my head that we are going to trade CJ and ET to the Bulls for Otto Porter. It would cut $19 million off our cap number this summer. Porter could slide in to Aminu's spot as the PF and it would open up the possibility of at least keeping one of Curry, Hood, or Kanter by opening up the Full-MLE without too much worry about the hard cap. I'm not sure if either team would do that but attaching a bad contract to a team with some cap space that has a decent player to give us back too is one way we could maybe accomplish this.

See, I didn't include Turner because I think he has negative value. That said, the Bulls are the only team I see taking him.t

I actually believe that Meyers has more trade value.

Make that a 3-team trade:

POR gets: Porter, Griffin
CHI gets: McCollum, Turner, #15 (DET)
DET gets: Meyers, Harkless, #8 (CHI), #25 (POR), 2021 POR 1st

I actually really like that. Doesnt clear money but I think at that point we'd bring back Hood for the tax-payer MLE, Aminu, and Layman.

Lillard (36) / Simons (12)
Hood (32) / Simons (8) / Layman (6)
Porter (34) / Layman (14)
Griffin (28) / Aminu (20)
Collins (22) / Labissiere (18) / Griffin (8)

Then when Nurk returns, its be smart to try to turn Aminu or Layman into a big guard then can help Simons run the bench (Like Tonas Satoransky?)

Lillard (36) / Simons (12)
Hood (27) / Satoransky (15) / Simons (6) /
Porter (30) / Aminu (18)
Griffin (35) / Labissiere (10) / Aminu (3)
Nurkic (25) / Collins (18) / Labissiere (5)

Leonard can't hold a candle to Turner.
I've never seen a more energetic player than Turner and I've seen an awful lot of players.
Although Turner is not having a great year, I expect him to have a great year next season, especially when he posts up against a shorter defender.
I'm a fan of Turner.

You just can't resist taking a simple trade and turning it into a multi-team trade in which a bunch of draft picks change hands, can you?

I ma fan of turnovers too. But i prefer them be made by hostess and not blazers.

Nope, not if I cam add both my #1 SF and PF target.

I don't like Porter at the 3 that much.
Why? In that lineup itd be much easier to slide him onto guards if need be, since Dames big enough to guard some 2s and Hood can guard some 3s.

I just think Meyers is more valuable on the market.

It's gonna be hard as Hell to move Turner.

I'm a fan of Turner too.. :twothumbs:

There are fans who are calling for sweeping changes. Do you think the roster needs tweaking or significant changes?

“The same people that wanted sweeping changes last year?”

(Questioner responds: I don't know. I don't know them personally. I just hear from them all the time)

"Right. Great. Well, last year was going to take sweeping changes because we got swept by Golden State in the first round and all the alarmists overreacted.
.
.
.
"But this idea that (we need) sweeping changes. Where were all these people that wanted sweeping changes 10 days ago? Where were they? They were the ones bouncing off the walls in the Moda Center when we got the third seed .
.
.
.
Relative to people back in December who were complaining that we weren't going to make the playoffs and we were in purgatory because we weren't going to make the playoffs and we weren't going to pick high enough. Right? That was the rallying cry. Then it was, 'Oh my God. They're going to blow the third seed because they're going to lose all these games. They're not even going to get home court advantage.' They overreacted to that.”

Man, the disdain this guy has for the fans in Portland. He thinks we are all beneath him. I will never forget that exit interview.

Just a reminder about how Neil feels about the fans in Portland...

And this is why i pretty much expect nothing even if we continue to lose (and we will because the good teams will stil come). Terry gonna keep his job, Neil is gonna say that we haven't seen the team at full strength and bla bla bla.

I think Neil is safe. But firing Stotts is becoming a likely scenario. Easiest thing to do.

I just want the next coach not to be a "yes" man. Someone who tells Neil who we are going to draft, and not the other way around. Because it's quite obvious that he's shit at doing that.

In my case, it's mutual.

Why would you fire Stotts or Neil with the injuries we've had? The only mistake right now is trying to get wins.
-Nurk should take the rest of the season off as should Collins.
-Get Dame out of there as well.
-Let CJ and the Simons build their stock up.
-Reload the team (using your expiring contracts as trade bait) and get a great draft pick.
-Come in next season guns blazing.

the way they are losing is key not just that they are losing
