Per woj, olshey meeting with someone else

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

Uh yeah. While our newbie may be cheap annually, we did just mortgage our future on a PG in the high- lotto. With being a lotto team, you don't sign one of the oldest players in the game to be your starting PG.

Just sayin'.

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

does Morey's recent draft and the Howard play and now Asik smack of desperation?

No! Morey makes things happen. He got a bunch of post-Lottery picks, but with first-round contracts.

It's the FORMULA, I tell ya!!!

The Clippers, Celtics, Timberwolves, Suns and 76ers were among the teams to contact Jamal Crawford after midnight:

While we're on the topic, league sources say free-agent PG Goran Dragic also is looking for a deal that starts in the $10M range.

Oooo would like to see him go to 76ers or Celtics. Would be my choices if I were him.

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

Oh, and Happy B-Day on this board too, HCP! Hope you're having a great day.

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

Przybilla was a little better offensively, if you can believe that, and blocked shots a little more, but Asik is a better rebounder. I like Asik, I just wouldn't want to over pay for him. How much do you think he's worth? What was Przybilla's contract like when he was 25?

$8 million / year seems steep, but not that steep. I'd say that a bit over the mid-level exception seems reasonable, I believe the MLE is $5 million / year for four years, so somewhere between $6-7 million / year wouldn't strike me as a major overpay. And $8 million / year wouldn't be crazy if the number of years was lower than the four of the MLE. Less guaranteed years means less exposure to risk if he doesn't perform.

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

Asik fills a need. He's not sexy like the rest of us, but I can see him fitting in great with a Lillard/LMA/Batum/? line-up.

Asik your destiny, and find it!

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

Thanks brother! This was day 22 of working 23 of 25 straight! My gift will be getting to go home tomorrow night!

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

Nice work with the Trials, looked Great on TV. Happy Birthday!

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

You would think with how teams had to pay millions for nothing with the amnesty provision as well as give up draft picks to shed horrible contracts that guys like Dragic would not even consider asking for 10M starting without getting laughed at. Shows how little I know.

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

Happy Birthalday, FAMS!!!

Thanks for all your work, too! Fo realz, FAMS!

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

The more i think about the more i think that Olshay is targeting Billups on like a two year contract

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

Lillard is definite starter:

@BlazerFreeman: The #Blazers do not have intentions of pursing a PG to compete with Damian Lillard for starting spot. Lillard will be the guy.

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

We know they're meeting with Asik but the whereabouts of Olshey is very hush-hush.

Hmm...

Gordon or Lou Williams?

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

@BlazerFreeman: #Blazers might pursue a veteran PG, but he will be signed knowing his role is to mentor Lillard and not compete for starting spot.

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

Gordon or Lou Williams?

I assume you're talking about Eric Gordon...?

If so, how is that even a question? It also seems like the Hornets (who have the right to match any offer for Gordon) are commited to build around him, Davis, and Rivers, meaning that unless there is a ridiculous contract offered to Eric Gordon this summer (ie: 13-15 a year), he'll remain a Hornet for at least another season.

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

Jason Kidd? Kidd has indicated, according to what I've read, that he's okay with a backup position going forward.

The rumors say he's going to wherever Deron goes to back him up.

I'm guessing he wants to be on a contender though...

Mike bibby, baron davis, andre miller, kirk hinrich, beno udrih, nate robinson?

Yeah, I was going to add that it was probably only in the right situations. I read his being open to a backup position in connection to Golden State, but that may just be due to home town.

Re: Ridiculously Expensive Agency

Looking through the free agent list those were the guys that I thought might be willing to be mentors
