What I'm guessing happened in the meeting with Chauncey and Neil is:

Dame go focus on the Olympics.

Neil told Dame about the types of players he was targeting and would make the roster changes before Dame comes back. (@Mediocre Man alluded to this)

Dame and Neil (and probably Chauncey) re-convene after the Olympics and discuss whether those changes are enough.

If not (and christ, look at who we signed), I hope Dame at least puts some onus on Neil to try and make a move instead of directly asking out now.
I hope he meets with Jody and puts the onus on HER to make a move.

It simply cannot be left to him to make that call. If Dame asks out, we need to descend upon One Center Court like locusts and protest until they fire his ass.
Just make sure we get national coverage.

I can't imagine Dame asks out yet. Maybe if we haven't made any changes by training camp though.

Hmm, not bad:

Odd move. If it's the BAE, they hardcap themselves. If it's the MMLE, they can't chase Shroeder or Jackson using the full MLE amount, which I think they should.

But I guess they are pretty confident right now that Dame is asking out!

Dame's hands and feet are registered weapons. That could be ugly.

in all the chatter about other NBA front offices holding out to see if Dame demands a trade, has anybody considered that perhaps, one thing that is fueling that are things Olshey has said in discussions with other GM's?

I know it seems kind of a remote possibility, but if Olshey knows he can't, or won't, meet Dame's demands for a contender, could he be pouring some of the blood in the trading-Dame water himself? trying to gin-up the market early?

Remember at the start of the off-season, Quick basically said there's no way CJ doesn't get traded?

Over the past few months he's slowly backed off of that assertion. Now he thinks we aren't making any changes to the starting lineup. You don't think that is based on discussions he's having with people that work with the FO? Or other teams that have been in contact with our FO?

going from Melo, RHJ, and Blevins to McLemore, Snell, and Brown indicates a trade?

Come on man... you think Blevins counts in any way, shape, or form?

McLemore and Snell fit the same basic function as Ant. A dude you stick in the corner to shoot threes. If we end up trading CJ/Ant/Little for Simmons, where does that put our rotation?

Dame/Simmons
Norm/McLemore/CJ Elleby
RoCo/DJJ/Snell
Simmons/Brown
Nurk/Zeller

Cmon Neil, you still have time to improve the team. Improve now or Dame leaves.

ok...whatever

I'm just saying I don't think signing guys like McLemore and Snell indicate an impending trade any more that signing Stauskas or Heszonja or Tolliver did. It's just Olshey's standard dumpster diving

Terry, don’t you have a job to look for?

hahaha this is the worst take I have ever seen on here.
Derrick Jones jr is not a point guard or shooting guard.
He can’t shoot, he doesn’t have handles or passing ability.

I bet that Dame comes back and if the rumor are true about seeing Giannis win and playing with Bam made him want a super athlete big... Dame says, "You didn't do enough. Do what it takes to get Simmons on our team. I'm sure there are other moves you could do that would keep me but my preference is Simmons. Anyway you do it, you've got to do more and do it urgently." Then Dame as has been reported in rumors gives the team until a reasonable enough amount of time before the trade deadline and demands a trade by the deadline if the improvements haven't been made. I don't think he'll tell Neil he has until the trade deadline but maybe he will lay out the exact timeline.

If Neil pushes back too much and says they aren't looking to make any more deals and this is the team they're taking into the regular season... I don't think it will sit well with Dame and he might demand a trade right then or just do it before the trade deadline.

So in the summer of discontent for Dame, our big moves was re-signing Norm and bringing in Cody Zeller?

so far, yeah

I'm guessing that Olshey is out there shopping Jones really aggressively...maybe even adding a 1st round pick for leverage. If he finds a taker, that might be what convinces Olshey he's done enough

Shit, I hope he's angling for a CJ+ trade because I don't think anything else will improve the core of this team and that's what Dame said had to improve in his presser before leaving for Japan. That was before he met with Neil and Chauncey so maybe his mind was changed but I doubt that and if it was I bet kicking it with Draymond for a month will change it back. Not that Dray will recruit him to the Warriors. Just that Dray stirs shit up and will be talking Dame's ear off and talking shit about winning titles.

Here's the problem...

Out
Melo (backup four)
Kanter (backup center)
Rondae Hollis Jefferson (backup.... three? four?)
Harry Giles
TJ Leaf
Blevins

In
Zeller
McLemore
Snell
Brown

Who is the backup power forward?
How are we replacing 24.6 ppg, 14 rebounds, 2.7 assists with those four guys?
