From top to bottom, is Portland's roster this year more talented than last year's?

I really gotta use green font in a game thread. Some people have no idea when sarcasm is being used at all.
You already decided that you were gonna dislike Simons this year though. It's not sarcasm.

This team needs some work. Not convinced our bench is gonna get it done.
Once Ant gets it going it will be a lot better, but we really need a floor general on the second unit. Can we trade Tolliver for Elfred Payton? Lol

CJ couldn't throw a beachball in a swimming pool tonight and shot 17 times...made 4

Sometimes we are not smart you got guy trap in the corner and you foul your going get 8 count.

Same old shit year after year. When has this team ever NOT needed work?

I'm sick of this shit. If we get a first round exit, Terry needs to GO.

Game thoughts:

Decent effort by the Blazers, they just couldn't hit the broadside from the outside. 7-28 from '3' when the other team shoots 56% from '3' won't win many games. CJ/Bazemore in particular a combined 6/25 with CJ getting a cheapie late. That CJ kept shooting while he was bricking up a storm....is just what we've come to expect. He missed Whiteside on 4 or 5 lobs for easy dunks and instead took very contested shots. It's not changing anytime soon so might as well get used to it.

Speaking of Whiteside, not sure you could expect much more from him. Jokic hit a couple '3's late but fore the most part, Whiteside thoroughly outplayed him. Jokic is a tough matchup for Whiteside and he more than held his own. 16 points, 19 rebounds and 2 blocks on just 7 shot attempts is ridiculous!

Blazers were very rough in patches just from unfamiliarity it seemed. Sets were very stiff/robotic and there was little movement at times. That will improve. The bench was dominated and I expected more from Bazemore although he was very solid defensively...but they need his offense. Simons looked very lost at times although I think a couple shots going in will help that.

Denver was on a mission on this and Portland looked not very used to each other. But there were some good things that they can build on. They just need to win games on this road trip.

If only we had Meyers Leonard. We would have swish3ed that to victory

Feels like Terry only challenged that to give the refs some practice reviewing a foul call.

There goes the season

A lot of people are probably going to overreact to this loss but honestly I think we're gonna be a really good team

I think we need to be concerned about the bench. I like Skal a lot, and Bazemore has great defense (but not great offense), but Ant looks super raw and Tolliver is literally a big fat zero.

They hit 3s and we missed 3s. It's gonna be a rough start of the season but the road trip should be good for them.
