The good thing about the streak being over is that I'll stop feeling like we're getting jinxed like hell every home opener

Believe whatever you like but you are wrong on that. Simons will be fine he is just young. You guys have anointed him the next Kobe Bryant or what have you. It's not me. It's that you have made him a messiah. The Kid is young. He is going to have to work on defense and you are going to see stretches like tonight where he essentially gives the lead up and Stotts has to pull him.
Just because i have told the truth on the matter and i happen to be right is causing you to be defensive. Now you are saying i have made up my mind that i "Dislike" him. That is just childish. The kid has a couple hundred minutes for his entire career. He hasn't done enough in the league to be "DISLIKED" by me. I already told you once. Lets see where he is 20 games into the season. Then lets see where he is at 40 games. Then lets see if they even keep him next year? Give the kid a chance to fail. That is the only way he will get better.
 
Here's my first game of the season overreaction - I hate CJ's game. I hated it last season. I hated it the season before last. He's a ball hog. He doesn't look to pass at all. He has no court vision and he only passes as an absolutely positively last resort. He had no business taking shots in the 4th. He was ice cold and he should have been feeding Dame and Rodney. CJ is the reason why our bench has sucked for years. We keep trying to play him as a point guard and it doesn't work. It has never worked. It never WILL work. Our team lives by the CJ and it dies by the CJ. Tonight it died by the CJ.
 
Some things was good and some wasn't. Didn't shoot the ball well and had 20 turnovers in the game. Defense against the 3 wasn't good was difference in this game. Dame Whiteside Zach had solid game. Baze solid on D. Another things the 2nd only score 17 points not enough. Now we have to bounce against the kings.

our bench is not going to be good this season I’m afraid. I’ve said it all preseason. I love Simons I think he’s going to be good but u can’t really rely on such a young dude like that. I hope I’m wrong
 
Get the next one...lot to like about the defense...shots will fall and the bench will learn to play together...it shows nothing is second nature with most of the new guys.

Well, Tolliver need to sit his ass down. 9 man rotation is enough. We can get minutes out of Pau once he's clear too.
If Ant get's going the bench will be decent. The whole bench unit is comprised of people who never played together too, I'll give them some time.

Yeah Tolliver sucks ass. How is he even in the NBA?
 
The 2nd unit needs to relax and go play. Some of the players looks like deer in headlights.

Decent effort by the Blazers, they just couldn't hit the broadside from the outside. 7-28 from '3' when the other team shoots 56% from '3' won't win many games. CJ/Bazemore in particular a combined 6/25 with CJ getting a cheapie late. That CJ kept shooting while he was bricking up a storm....is just what we've come to expect. He missed Whiteside on 4 or 5 lobs for easy dunks and instead took very contested shots. It's not changing anytime soon so might as well get used to it.

Speaking of Whiteside, not sure you could expect much more from him. Jokic hit a couple '3's late but fore the most part, Whiteside thoroughly outplayed him. Jokic is a tough matchup for Whiteside and he more than held his own. 16 points, 19 rebounds and 2 blocks on just 7 shot attempts is ridiculous!

Blazers were very rough in patches just from unfamiliarity it seemed. Sets were very stiff/robotic and there was little movement at times. That will improve. The bench was dominated and I expected more from Bazemore although he was very solid defensively...but they need his offense. Simons looked very lost at times although I think a couple shots going in will help that.

Denver was on a mission on this and Portland looked not very used to each other. But there were some good things that they can build on. They just need to win games on this road trip.

This is exactly what i am seeing.
Lots to be excited about. Whiteside put on a show!
Bazemore was a beast!
Dame looks solid as ever!
Collins is getting better every time i see him play!
Hood showed he is worthy!
The Blazers have been the beneficiaries over the last couple seasons of being the team that returned players. This year it isn't the case.
Only two returning starters. 8 new faces.
Also Denver returning 12 players and it showed without question.

He couldn't hit anything. He had shots halfway down that came out.

You ain't wrong. Simons is gonna have some good and some very bad like we watched tonight.

Whiteside would have had an easy 20 points if CJ could figure out that on the rotation when he drives to the hoop with 2 or more guys coming at him,...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................there is a 7'1" center with a 7'7" wingspan either all alone or with a guard rotating over to him.
