I'm just interested in watching Simons play at this point. I don't really care about watching the starters play lol. I know what Dame and CJ can do--I love watching young guys like Simons improve each game.

Edit: And I don't think anyone should be fired for this season. We're hurt and it doesn't mean people should be fired. I mean we're starting Tolliver for crying out loud lol.

This is what I’ve been saying too. It’s going to be a developmental year and I’m excited. Give Little a lot run too and let’s enjoy Simons getting better..

The time around the draft should be a lot of fun

idk, some people don’t give up two weeks into a season, but do you.

Umm dude when you lose to the Santa Cruz warriors and Kings without their best players it’s time.. we’ll be back great next year tho hang in there

"I dont blame Stotts, I mean were starting Tolliver"... why dont we start Skal then...? Dude can play PF much better than Tolliver, and he can be staggered to play backup C as well.

But no, Stotts only played him 19 minutes last night. Same as Tolliver.

I think he will soon when we go full development. We’ll be great next year with fully healthy Nurk and Zach and other assets we get for enduring this season

IDK? Skal got cooked last night? Of course so did Tolliver so i guess starting Skal would make sense for growth values.

Naw I don’t think anybody needs to be fired.

injuries just did us in. Simple as that. We’ll be fine next year when we run it back fully healthy and more weapons with our lottery pick and trading Whiteside and Baze
The FA market is terrible this summer. There wouldn't be much on the market - even at the MLE level.
Also considering Portland's financial position, I highly doubt Whiteside or Baze will be traded for players with longer contracts. Portland will be looking at allowing their salaries to come off the books to get below the tax line for next season.

Aiight here’s the deal. Tolliver and Mario have offered next to nothing offensively. They have the two lowest obpm among the rotation players. Mario is however one of the few guys on the team that defends, and the numbers back it up, as he’s third on the team in dbpm behind Baze and Skal.

It’s too early to be making trades, so we have to deal with what we’ve got. I don’t know if solution is the word, but the first order of business should be to consider taking Tolliver completely out of the rotation. That’s roughly 20 minutes freed up, not an insignificant number, especially considering most of the issues are with the second unit. Mario should probably see his minutes reduced, but honestly, he hasn’t really been given the ball the way he got it in preseason. When he’s with the starters, he’s basically just standing around while dame/CJ go ISO.

My rotation starting tonight, assuming Hood is a go:

Dame
CJ
Baze
Hood
Whiteside

Second unit

Simons
Hood
Little/Trent
Hezonja/Little
Skal

Trent played well on both ends yesterday, so he probably deserves another look tonight as well. This is obviously not ideal, but running Tolliver and Hezonja out there for a combined 40 minutes isn’t working either.

btw I do think Olshey should consider signing another big, but I also have no idea where Gasol is in his rehab.
If Hood plays i totally agree. He would have been nice to have last night as well.

Because he's a vet and in theory gives Dame and CJ space by spreading the floor.

I actually think we can win this game. We need Dame and CJ to have big nights which they very well could against a Toronto back court that is without Lowry. We also need Mario and the rest of our defense to limit Siakam's success. The team has been playing poorly (not up to their potential) but if we put together a good game, we can beat the Raptors.

you wrong. besides zach, he's a key player, all others teams are missing players too. Sac was without fox, bagley
toronto tonight without ibaka, lowry, og anunoby, all key players. We just suck.

Dame needs to sit out tonight for load management. Everyone else is doing it.

Listen. Just like last night any team on any given night can have a good game or a bad one.
This was probably not a good move to let Damian Lillard read something like this. If you are a member of the Raptors team.

Meh Dame can score 60 and lose with this team he has

How are the Blazers 4 point favorites in this game? Is Siakam not playing? lol

There's a good chance he gets injured mid game. The Raps are dealing with almost as many injuries as us.

I just dont believe so much on this team. Tolliver cant play. We need a trade - this roster cant compete in a high level, and thats clear. Another loss at home coming...
Tolliver is crappy and Bazemore is a disappointment. CJ and Lillard are the backbone. Whiteside is good. Anfernee Simmons is good. The rest are either green or stink not counting those on the injured list.
