All you Stotts haters crack me up. For the last three seasons he rode his main horses hard...probably too hard. He was doing his best to win because he was under pressure to win. This season its like he's been given some of the same freedom he is giving his players. Or maybe he's under orders to play certain players. But he's spreading out the playing time and letting the players make their mistakes and find their way. That is a pretty radical departure from seasons past. I feel like he's almost having fun playing with all the various pieces. He knows they aren't playoff material so he gets to spend the season seeing what works and what doesn't. Which guys might be "long run" material and who's a rental. And I would bet PA and NO are just fine with that, if they didn't outright direct him to do it. We all knew we were in for a long rough season. So relax and enjoy the ride. And anyway, the last thing they need to do with pretty much an entirely new team is to bring in a new coach. I doubt there's one out there who could do any better this particular season.....
Perfect example tonight, playing Alexander over Ed Davis.

Frazier looked good in his brief stint tonight. He was running the offense like a traditional PG should. I think we need to see more of him.
He was a +11 in 5 minutes.

As for coaching, it certainly look like Stotts has been given orders to play the young guys. Kaman started that first game after Leonard went down. Clearly, Olshey said Play the Young Guys after that game.

Olshey's seat is getting warm in my opinion.

Why? It's not even about this year. I dont like Stotts, but the realistic viewpoint is he'll probably be here for the year because... again, it's not about this year.

Dame = 41 minutes
Crabbe = 39 minutes
CJ = 38 minutes
Aminu = 37 minutes

Meanwhile...
Harkless = 19 minutes
Henderson = 15 minutes (!)

Toughest loss of the season by far....... Headin home......

I won't go after people until the 25 game so I keep the negatives to myself until then. Von did another decent job tonight with 4 and 6 and in the + side in the game.

Olshey assembled this dumpster fire, that's why.

He should have stayed an assistant coach...that's about all he's good for
No, if my theory is true, I am not angry at him or critical. I think it's ok with me also; it's a longer term perspective.

I really get the feeling that Allen likes Olshey. Neil is really charasmatic, his drafting has been pretty good, and he's acquired some nice talent at bargain prices. What is there to fault him for?

We're the best team in the league at giving away big leads.
For a team this young with so many unprovens this was expected . . . and frankly it's kind of great in the long-term. At least this roster has enough talent to build a lead and/or compete every night. Imagine what it would look like if they managed to snag Ben Simmons somehow or get a guy with all-star potential with their upcoming (nearly guaranteed) high lotto pick?

The NBA is all about selling wins or selling hope. In the absence of the former, there's actually a pretty decent amount of the latter. #ridethetank

It's a carefully crafted dumpster fire... one to which we hope we can make some smores and sing kumbaya in a couple years.
This yr., it will provide some warmth & sometimes it'll almost look like the fire's out BUT... in a few years... this "dumpster fire's" going to become a raging bonfire that will consume the league!:onfire::onfire::onfire:

Just imagine if we were Brooklyn and sending our next three picks to another team.

Please fire Stotts.. Shoulda called a timeout when Aminu was doing his stupid little dance. We had 3 TOs left!! We didn't get anything in transition then he preceeded to sit on his fucking thumbs.. He has no counter for Dame and CJ getting overplayed, yet he's this "freat offensive mind". I know I say it after every game but his shit is so retarded... He had 5 players worth at least $12M a year the past couple years and couldn't do shit with them, even though they fit his system perfectly. We'll never get a better setup for Stotts, even with better players. He needs to GO...

It's funny how some of you guys think a different coach will actually mask the lack of proven talent on this team.

Just look at what Thibs did with fucking Noah,Boozers and midget Nate as his starters.
Hornysack almost made the playoffs in the west with an injured Bledsoe+Markieff+Dragic.

Disappointing loss...it sure looks suspicious beating teams for 3 qtrs and mailing in the end game...the tanking is getting obvious

I don't know...did you see Stotts face in the post game interview...he looked sickly like he is so tired of losing and knew we had this game in hand. I think he wants to win, that the Blazers want to win, we just cant win cause we are that young and inexperienced. (young and inexperienced sounds better than we suck)

I left for work just before the shot that sent the game to overtime...I thought we had this one..didn't see the post game stuff or the OT but it looks like we stopped guarding Harden for 5 minutes straight

Does anyone still think Stotts will be the coach next season?

Me. If you expected us to be better than this it was probably because he got us to overachieve briefly early on.

The only time a coach should be fired is if the team underperforms its talent level or stops trying. We're TRYING, and if anything we're overperforming our talent level.

Sometimes I think Terry just needs to break a chair..have a Bobby Knight moment..get ejected from a game..get the fire started
