Some swiss dude is in our house, acting like he's hot shit after our pathetic defense.

I hope our guys are embarrassed by this

You know what is embarrassing. Plumlee left out there in the paint.... he looks like a Raggedy Andy Doll with alligator arms.

The personnel issues start with the coach?
Yes. The scheme is bad, and the coding adjustments are made in games instead of in practice. He also allows continuous switching. I counted 6 or 7 times a big guarded Harden after he simply walked the ball up the court

With this December schedule and the way we play defense, 11-20 is not far fetched.

It's all good. Dame and Cj are still young. We have Harkless and Layman. The rest can go kick rocks. Their trash. With a lottery pick this year and some trades we can be a new and different team ready to introduce ourselves next year

Those are not personnel issues. That is a coaching issue.

Plumlee is not trash. Either is Turner.

Just finsihed the game and ouch is all I can say. Our two games against the Rockes they'v shot 44% and 48% from 3. Just stupid numbers.

Uncontested three after uncontested three smh.

I never like to come around after you guys lose because I don't want to be the trolling fan that brags after a win...but...

Yeah. I don't know what the plan was there on defense. You guys pressed Harden for most of the night, that was the first mistake. Should have let him lazily bring the ball up the court since if you let him he'll use about 6-7 seconds of clock each time, it's one of the things that annoys me about him...then the switching...I lost count how many times your big was caught on Harden at the top of the perimeter with all the space in the world to work. This happened countless times along with the pressing (which you hardly see in the NBA period) it was pretty strange. I don't know why you guys don't have a better record, you didn't lose any major players but gained a few depth players.

Harden sucks.

But he's also the MVP so far this season.

But he still sucks.

I have to say, it's pretty sad when a D'Antoni-coached team plays better defense than the Blazers.
Our D is just god awful and there is a lot wrong. This just points out exactly how bad. We are the worst defensive team in the league.

Stop switching, fight through screens. It's really not that difficult. I know we don't have a rim protector (and we definitely need one) but this team shouldn't be this bad defensively.

What I don't get is we had this same problem last year and then we stopped switching and improved. Why the fuck have we gone back to what didn't work?

So what you're saying is it was a good time to catch up on sleep?

The Blazers would switch at even the hint of a screen and Plums/Davis was stuck on Harden time and time again. After the game, a HOU media member even incredulously asked Harden if he was surprised he was guarded by Plumlee so many times. A complete joke of a defensive game plan. Either that or the players just aren't listening to what Stotts is trying to teach. Either way, it is bad.

Houston trapped Dame multiple times but not every time so they would switch it up. That D'Antoni out-game-planned Stotts on defense is downright embarrassing.

OK, we playing 19 games so far, and i still think we are like trash.

For real if we dont make a trade i dont see how we can make the playoffs this year, or if we make we go out in the first round and probaly go in the 8seed.

Im really worry, ok we just play 19 games, but our Defense is the worse in the league.

I wanna see this team with Aminu back and Festus, i was ok before last game but we cant make a winning streak, thats whats worry me the most...

I would not count on Festus at all

This is definitely disconcerting. But HOU did have Beverley, Ariza, and Brewer guarding Dame. And they have an elite rim protector in Capela.

Moe is our best and only good defender. And, we have (for all intents and purposes) 3 guys in Dame/CJ/Plums as bad defensively as Harden.

This is really a personnel issue. I think even Thibs would have trouble coaching defense with this roster. Not as bad as Terry, but still pretty damn bad.

We can hate Harden all we want but the Rockets are a good team this season and when Anderson and Ariza are hitting threes..they're a tough team to beat..Cappela is a good player...they have the perfect coach for that roster

That's what I'm saying this is a personnel issue. There's nothing that can improve this defense. Players must be changed
