Umm because Id rather have a guy who hustles and is inconsistent than a guy that doesn't hustle and is inconsistent?

Results? Hmmm, how many no shows did we bitch about during Batum's tenure here? Results you say??? LMAO. I thought you wanted an intelligent conversation on this topic?
I don't know what Nic is averaging, but I'm quite sure it's better than Aminu.

you answered your own question right there.....Vonleh is a lot younger and cheaper than Nico and honestly...Nic was declining here
He has had his two best years in his career in CHA. What are you going on about?

Dude, there's a reason Nic is making 25 mil per year, and Aminu, 8.

Quoting per 36 numbers, get outta here.

I can't believe people actually defend a trade that sent out a near max player for Noah freaking Vonleh.

You forgot Geraldo freaking Hendo!

I'm actually one of Neil's biggest supporters, but the Nic trade was a huge swing and a miss.

Oh my god. Nice backing anything up with tangibilities.

Are you seriously saying because someone givea s a player a max contract, he is worth that? From the same guy saying half our team are on too big of contracts? LMAO;.. You get out of her with your bs. HAHAHAHA

So what you JUST said is Aminu is on a value contract and Nico is grossly over paid. 4ppg difference between them in thier career. Same rbounds per game. More steals and blocks per game. All in almost 10 minutes less per game.

Get your shit outa here with that... LMAO.

Secondly, Im not defending the trade. the question was about Aminu, not Vonleh. do you read or just talk smack without knowing what your talking about?
Seriously.....hahahahha

Nico is the new flavor of the month in Charlotte...he's having a decent season...Aminu has had a rough start....but compare the paychecks and consider Batum is a go to guy on his new team....if Nic is still bringing it in March....we'll see

What are you going on about
huh? you've completely lost me....Vonleh is a kid...just turned 20...Nic played many years here...compare rookie Batum to a 19 year old Vonleh and you've got a conversation...when Vonleh has put the miles on a court Batum has...we'll have a comparison

And Nic is their first option? Aminu is our third/fourth?

Man some people love to wear blinders.....

River, the question wasnt even about Vonleh. Yayuza is just ... well out there or something at the moment....

I never said anything about money. Who gives a fuck how much they make. In today's salary cap situation, I don't think it matters anymore. I'm talking straight up talent on the court and the ability to master the whole game of basketball. Not guessing what somebody would do over 36 min bullshit.....straight up getting it done. I can't think of one team that would want Aminu on their roster over Nic. If you think Aminu is better, I question your common sense of the game.

In vacuum I want Nic over Aminu. But we would have had to sign Nic to super max. No way in heck do I want that contract. So when you take that into account I am happy to pay Aminu 1/4 of the price.

Batum was getting starts from day 1 on a 54 win team.

Vonleh is still getting DNP CDs in year 3, and he plays at a position where we desperately need his help.

There's also the fact that we were facing two max contracts in Dame and Lamarcus when that trade went down...and Lamarcus was done with Batum which sort of set the tone for the Batum trade

yes, but we were willing to pay an inferior player (to Nic) in Parsons the same contract Nic got. New realities of the cap.

Huh? Money HAS to be a factor cause if we had Nic instead of Aminu, we would be severely over the tax threshold...

OF course I would take Nic over Batum if it was dollar for dollar, but the FACT is it isn't. So no. Id rather have Aminu and surround him with better players than have Nic and surround him with scrubs. Because that's what their contracts would allow.

If your going to ask a question you have to accept that there are tangibles in play.

I just don't think people realize how bad Aminu has been this year, even before his injury and return.

He's shooting 26% from the field and 20% from 3. He has a PER of 7. And it's not like he's defending much either, all his metrics are at or below team average.

Blah Blah Blah. Get out of here. Question wasn't about Vonleh and even the questionnaire said he doesn't care about other stuff. Straight up Nic over Aminu.

Now get out of here... lol

Just got fed up with the whole..."we are better with Aminu, than Nico" bullshit last season. Just wondering where it's at now and want people to realize they were wrong.

No we weren't. Parsons' got max not super max. Check Nic's contract. That is what we would have had to have forked over.

Again. I don't think anyone here disputes Nic as being a better all around player now and for their careers. But Money HAS to play a factor.

Here is something to ponder when you are thinking about this and their respective values....

Would you rather have a CRV that gets 25mpg for $25k, or would you rather have a Mercedes suburban that gets 30mpg for $100k?

Sorry. Ill take the CRV. Maybe Im just practical....

Leaves me with three times as much money to spend on other things and no where near three times the loss of vehicle...

Or player when discussing AMinu and Batum.

To make another analogy, AMinu is $8 a yea. Nic is $25 a year. Is Nic 4 times the player that AMinu is? HELL no. So therefore Aminu is better for his money than Nic is for his....

Didn't realize 8 is a fourth of 25.

Smh.

How many times will you keep making this claim?

Nic didn't get super max either, as he wasn't eligible for one: http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...-year-120-million-deal-stay-charlotte-hornets

Nic: 5 yr, 120 mil --> 24 mil (5th year player option)
Parsons: 4 yr, 94 mil --> 23.5 mil (no options)

Pretty much the same, no?
No, not the same at all. At least to me. The 5th year is why Nic stayed. That was a requirement to keep him as he did flirt with DAL but of course only 1 team could give him that 5th year (CHA and in turn us instead had we kept him). Even if a team could have gave Parsons' the 5th, they wouldn't have.
