I can't tell if I'm more pissed about this loss, or our losses earlier in the season when they showed no signs of life from opening tip to final buzzer.

Im gonna start another thread on trading Dame. The other one is only a couple weeks old so it is time for a new one.
 
I dont get that play call by Terry. down 1 with 9.4 seconds left, go for a quick hitter. No need to burn 7 seconds by inbounding to the backcourt. You then give yourself just 1 shot instead of a possible OReb

No need to get so salty. It's just that Damian and CJ's defensive shortcomings don't really work as a long term solution. If you want to compare them to a couple of Dubs players I would have picked Monta and Steph as a better comp.

I am not salty, I just dislike some blazer fans who wanna sit here and say trade dame and cj. It is so ridiculous. Does anybody see the supporting cast they have? it's kinda shit. Whatever though, people gonna people

No I never said that, I am saying when people switch back and forth. First it was trade CJ now it's trade Dame. It's crazy

He has a point. I dont want to trade either as well, but damn they make our defense blow when they are both on the court. We have to do something, I just don't know what. Then again I dont get paid to know

How is the roster going to get better? You've got two players that overlap stylistically on offense and can't hold up defensively. Nobody is going to be lining up to take our trash off of our hands and give us an all-star in return. If the goal is to make the team better, then trading one or the other has to be on the table.

How did we manage to win the amount of games we did last year? why were we good at one point? how about we put a rim protector in there and see how CJ and Dame work out and then we can jump to trading one of them.

I agree. The makeup of the team is set. Not saying who we should trade. But for a long range projection on the competitiveness of this team. Something will have to be done eventually.

We were 15-24 at this point last year. We have improved. We are 16-23 this year.
 
This isn't meant to be a slam on Dame, but CJ is really making a case that he could END up the better player.

Aside from the team playing with a little more energy on defense (they were still shitty at 20th in the league) and catching other teams unaware? I don't know, maybe it was partly a fluke, and what we're seeing now is a regression to the mean. Plus it's not even really about winning or losing an overtime game, those are statistically going to be tossups, but look at the numbers and efficiency of Jackson and Caldwell-Pope? It's like that almost every night, with opposing backcourts putting up big numbers against CJ and Damian.

You say, "trade for a rim protector." Who? and for which players? Let's say we swap out Plumlee for a guy like Tyson Chandler (an average defender now). Is he going to cover up all of their shortcomings? Probably not. Guards are killing us on the perimeter not at the rim (mostly).
