So that's why we traded Batum
I remember Nic making that comparison. Didn't see it myself, and still don't; but I remember it.Now that you mention it, Batum was the first guy that I heard say that...actually compared him to Brandon Roy when Crabbe first got to start for Nic's injury
I can't believe people were picking us in that 18-25 wins total category... Even at our worst 04-06 (and those teams had nearly zero talent) we won over 20 games.
I wouldn't trade him for a lotto pick. Maybe for #1 or #2.Crabbe nowhere close to roy handles, but could be a poor man's klay potentially
I was shocked when Nic mentioned Roy..I don't see it either. He's going to be a better 2 guard, sf than Wes was....he's better than Wes right now
@JFizzleRaider totally called that shit preseasonIt's almost like someone mentioned Allen Crabbe is turning into a pretty darn good player![]()
Sorry, but he's not better than Wes. At least not yet. Wes was still a better defender and had a more diverse offensive game. Or are you talking maverick wes? Then sure.
Wes and fastbreaks.... *cringe*Wes had a more versatile offensive game? Wow I do not see that at all. I think the exact opposite. Crabbe has a mid range game and a floater to go along with his 3 ball. AND he can finish on the fast break. Wes was horrible on the fast break. Yes Wes could post up better, but that's it.
I think he's talking that max-contract guy on Dallas who is playing 33 mpg, but only has a PER of 11.6?Sorry, but he's not better than Wes. At least not yet. Wes was still a better defender and had a more diverse offensive game. Or are you talking maverick wes? Then sure.

I was saying I would start him back during the summer league.

What do you mean that's it? That's a go to play. If crabbe had it we'd be contenders.
You mean the 2-3 times a game that he tried it was a difference maker? He could only do it against certain players. And if he tried it any more than those few times a game, the other team would have adjusted and doubled him. And Wes is not a good passer, so that would have been a disaster. Seriously, Wes did not post up that many times a game. It was a nice change of pace when he did it, but it wasn't like we could run the offense around it.
Funny cuz over 20% of his points came from post ups. It wasn't a change of pace. It was a part of his game he really developed and made him, and in turn the offense that much more dynamic. If you want to talk about something actually used only two times a game, talk about Crabbes floater.
You do realize that 20% of his 15 points per game average is only ........3 points a game.
I remember quite a few of us wanted to bench Batum permanently after Crabbe's good turn during Nico's injury last year.I was saying I would start him back during the summer league.
So he made every shot he took when he posted up?
I think we can finish at 44-38. That's 5 games over .500 the rest of the way or .647
If they keep playing like this while improving.
yup..this season's Wes...prefaced it with going to be as good as Blazer Wes. 3 and D guySorry, but he's not better than Wes. At least not yet. Wes was still a better defender and had a more diverse offensive game. Or are you talking maverick wes? Then sure.
