Both Melo and TA are starters in a team with Dame, coaxed by one of the most respected players coach, they are having fun and feel a new lease on their careers!
It kind of like Pelosi getting all excited about the Green New Deal and her feaktionship with the newbie squad gals!
It's amazing how energized some older players get around young talent. The process of rejuvenation can be awesome.

Mario is getting roasted but he did have two WIDE OPEN looks from three that were right there. They didn't fall. If those shots fall the Blazers blow that game open in the fourth and Stotts looks like a genius.

If only we had a guy playing the same position and had already sunk two 3s in this very game to take those wide open looks !

If he gets 5 nobody is roasting Mario or Stotts decision to play him right now.

Yeah, and if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.

and here's a really relevant question: will Whiteside's performance tonight make it more likely or less likely he's traded

personally, I've never though there was much chance he'd be traded; I don't think Portland got him with the thought of "trade asset"

There's no chance in hell Whiteside is getting traded.

Imagine being the GM of the Blazers, watching how hard Lillard is working and then having the audacity to trade one of the best players on the team and the best rebounder for some crap plus a late draft pick.

It's basically spitting in Lillard's face.

Maybe you didn't notice Mario got his ass cooked and bricked shot the whole time he was on the floor (while also gifting free points with and ones and fouling jump shooters) while Nas was sitting his ass on the bench. Playing Nas and Mario the same number of minutes is criminal.
Not to mention, Little's wingspan 4 more inches than Hezonja and also standing reach 2.5 inches greater. Is Stotts even aware of this?

I think what people are missing is the fact Mario was bringing the ball upcourt. Nas and Gabriel don't have that in their game yet. This allowed Dame to play off ball a little and conserve a little energy.
That might be a good point. Reminds how Olshey keeps failing to get a good ball handler who can also score. If Dennis Schroder was on this team; I think we would be something else!

Next time read the entire comment and post it completely. You would find i agree with you.

Sorry..
Why would they speak about if or not they could play together?
I'm questioning that also? Seems like that is what some are saying. Has to be one or the other on this team. I'm not going to dig it up or try to put anyone on blast but i know i have read that some believe Hassan would not take a lesser role and they went as far as to say Nurk would not be happy either because he was not happy in Denver behind Jockitch.

Or maybe Seth Curry?

Oh, and btw this is a prime example of stotts being a horrible coach and us winning in spite of it. Dame is our real coach. Stotts is just the coach in title.

I read everything. I just think trying to excuse Stotts shitty decision because "If Mario had done more/ made more shot it wouldn't have been seen as bad" is dumb.
He didn't do more because he sucks. That's why Stotts shouldn't have played him.

I only mention good players today.

When i want to mention one dimensional black holes, then i will.

Nice try though.

McCollum is a good player. Just cause you don't think so doesn't mean he isn't. :bgrin:

CJ is a very good player!

Joe Dumars career stats - 16ppg, 46%FGP, 38% 3ptfgp, 15.1 PER - good defender
CJ, 46% FGP, 38% 3ptfgp, 16.8 PER

LMAO...."good defender"

Dumars was a 4-time all-NBA 1st team defender and a 5th time on the 2nd team. He was all-NBA twice and a 6-time all-star. And he deserved every one of those honors. He also played until he was 35 so using his career numbers distorts a comparison because CJ hasn't played thru his decline yet. And he spent a good part of his career playing in an NBA that didn't utilize the three-ball. Dumars attempted less that 300 three's over his first 7 seasons. CJ has already attempted 313 this season alone, and he's missed 5 games

Dumars also played in a different era when hand-checking and physical defense were not only allowed but rewarded. If CJ had to play against they type of defenses Dumars did, he'd cry a lot then quit the game

CJ probably isn't even on the level as these three guys, and he certainly doesn't have the upside:

Yeah..."logical assumptions"...lol...
Personally, for this year only, I think it would work.
I'm in favor of easing Nurk back...shit...bring him off the bench..
This year.

yeah yeah, great defender!
I never said he was as great as Dumars but his career stats to date indicate he's a decent guard in todays game.
Hell, if Curry went up against Dumars or Payton with hand checking think he's have the sats he does now? No way

GREAT defender all nba 1st team defense 4 times, 2nd team 1 Time, 3rd team 1 time , all-nba 2nd team once and all-nba 3rd team once.
I know, he was, and I should have said that, rather than good!
He also had some really good teammates that were solid defenders.

Who would say is the best defending 2 guard in the league now?

currently? probably have to go with Jimmy Butler or Jrue Holiday or Marcus Smart. Bledsoe is pretty good but he's more of a PG, although I'm not sure it matters on defense. Healthy you'd have to include Oladipo and Klay in the mix
