Nurk playing with foul trouble is mainly on Stotts. Some players can adjust and play with fouls but the guy is a center banging in the post and a lot of times trying to cover for our shitty perimeter defense. You gotta take him out there.

Oh well. Home court obviously doesn't mean shit to this team. So why should we worry about seeding? Not even sure this team will make it to the playoffs. We only beat 3 basement teams.

We're going to lose a lot of depth due to the shit contracts Olshey gave to Turner and Leonard, so we may as well hit the lottery again to get some depth.

Nurk didn't pick up his 3rd foul until very late in the 2nd and then got his 4th and 5th fouls very early in the 3rd. Refs were a crack shot sniper crew tonight waiting for the exact right stretch to pounce on him.

I think only like 3 were legitimate fouls. But hey, if the refs call it that way it must mean it's legitimate and a good barometer to use.

I'm awful tired of watching Griffin post at 20ft and back Aminu all the way under the basket.
Would've been nice to force Griffin to play out of a double team, or to see Swanigan in there.
At the very least Swanigan would've forced Griffin to make FT's. Not like Portland was keeping the Clippers off the line to begin with. Let the rook use some fouls to break some rhythm.

Last year I kept waiting for the close games to balance out but they never did. Portland has a bad record in close games. Dame and CJ don't execute well in crunch time, sorry to say.

Same. We either need to hire a defensive coach or look for a replacement. I've said it before and I'll say it again, we will not win a title with Terry Stotts as our head coach. He literally stood there and watched Blake Griffin iso our smaller bigs all night long. The two times we sent the double? It resulted in turnovers.

The Clippers made our role players beat us all night long, which has always been Doc's strategy against us. Our two losses have come at the hands of two players (Giannis and Blake). It would be great it we put the same pressure on the opposition's role players as they do ours.

I will say though I'm encouraged by the team.
There is a commitment to defense which wasn't there last season.
Sure they still have some lapses, but that's better than last year when it wasn't lapses. It was all out non-effort.

Our last 2 games in a row we shot like crap our two best players that suppose to lead us shot 15-37. Yes they got there points but it seems like at times it looks like there just trying to get there's. dame did have 6 assist tonight but at times he let it fly 3 or 4 times and not get into the offense. We had 19 assist tonight to me that has to come up to at least 25 or more.

So... CJ was 8-18 and 5-7 at the line. Not exactly light years better than Dame. Yes, Dame took terrible shots. But your boy CJ wasn't much better and bricked two VERY important free throws.

Dame and CJ didn't have particularly bad shooting nights tonight (they just both did not play well at the end). The bench gave us nothing. And Griffin was getting to the rim at will and there were no adjustments on the defensive end.

Clippers only shot 63% from the FT line, which allowed Portland to hang around. Portland didn't deserve this win. When other teams trap Dame and CJ the offense really struggles. They end up passing to Hark or Aminu who hold the ball and the movement stops.
