I enjoyed this game more than the last game against the Hornets. That game was boring as.... Outside of the first quarter, this game was entertaining.

I thought we were supposed to win all our home games against the easy teams? We lost to a freaking bear.

Lillard shooting 34% from 3 for the season....dropping a home game to another lotto team....Matthews showing us he'd have been a much better investment than any of the fuckers we signed.

looks like our horrible guard defense helped Yogi get a 2 yr deal with the Mavs, guards on 10-days must salivate if the Blazers are on the schedule during their call up period

Funny thing is now that he got the contract Yogi will never have a game like that again.

The team that was led by mental midget LMA? They were dangerous at times, but even in my heart of hearts I didn't think a title was a possibility.

Aldridge may have been on that team, but he didn't lead it.

Wes was the leader and heart and soul of that team. In spite of other injuries (Aldridge had missed 9 games, Batum 9 games and Rolo 23 games), when Wes went down, the Blazers were the second seed in the West and had the third best record in the entire NBA. Is a top 3 team not a contender?

When Wes went down, it completely took the air out of the team's sails. You could see it in the way they finished out the regular season and they way they didn't even out up a fight in the MEM series. Aldridge and Lopez both quit. It was only the young guys (Dame, C.J. and Meyers) who brought it in that series.

Who knows what would have happened if that team had been healthy. If they would have held onto that #2 seed, they would have faced DAL, a much better match up in the first round and would have also held HCA in the second round. HOU, who we had owned, when healthy, made it all the way to the WCF. If we had made it that far, with our size and much better defense (back then) we would have been an tough match up for GSW.

Rolo vs. Bogut
Aldridge vs. Green
Batum vs. Barnes
Wes vs. Klay
Dame vs. Curry

If both teams had been healthy, that would have been a hell of a series.

Any idea how much and if both years are guaranteed?

I can only hope Cuban, caught up in the euphoria of Yogi Mania, vastly overpaid and over committed. I hope so and he wakes up tomorrow and realizes, they won't be playing POR 82 games a year for the next two years.

Great loss guys.

What we learned:
-Damian needs to be punished for playing like afro-Kobe. What is this? the 10th time he takes horrible shots at clutch time this season?
-CJ needs to get recognition as the best player on the squad and the last guy who should to be on the trading block.
-Stotts got out-played by Rick the dick AGAIN, just to remind us he's a low tier coach who should be replaced.
-Need to stop the hype before Neil forgets that he must do waste management before the deadline and get rid of Turner,Davis,Crabbe,Leonard and Plumlee because no one pays through the nose in order to be a 4th tier team.

Im sick to my stomach with this team. That loss was fucking awful, can't get over how painful this season has become.

Damian sucks now. This reality is what's most painful

Dame brought it against Memphis? I recall their defense making him quite ineffective.

I wouldn't go nearly as far as to say he sucks, but he's steadily dropping toward average. It was a bit controversial when I said not too long ago he's closer to an average starting PG than he is to elite. That was based on him being in that 8-11 range on a lot of ranking lists, which isn't so far from #15 (i.e., average).

I'm not sure anyone else is close enough to that bottom tier of borderline elite PGs to have displaced Dame just yet, but the door is definitely open after games like last night when it's not even surprising that a 10 day-er lights him up.

Among all of the many (many!) things that went wrong in this game, yet AGAIN the team comes out totally unprepared to play - and with little focus and energy.
When is Terry Stotts going to stop being given the benefit of the doubt?

It seems Terry enjoys the same privilege that his players do: No Accountability.

He reminds me so much of Kobe Bryant and not the one who won the last two championships. I'm talking about Kobe in his afro days and last years of his career.

Iverson in Denver and Detroit is also a good example, CJ is a really good friend and teammate for having to put up with all of this second banana "last shot goes to Dame" bullshit.

This is Stotts during EVERY last timeout on a close game, Will=Dame:

Might as well call him coach Smiley too!

Lillard isn't really performing worse this year. His three-point percentage is way down, but his two-point percentage is actually up and his free throws have been trending up and the overall upshot is that he has the highest scoring efficiency (as measured by TS%) of his career. His defense is arguably the worst it's been, though, which counterbalances the gains in scoring efficiency.

I didn't get a chance to read this game thread.....what did I miss?

you missed the "Damian is a scrub" rant after a close loss....other than that...nothing much

Wait, so there are truthfully people who want this team that lost to dallas twice at home to make the playoffs?
We arent good enough. We have a couple good games a month. Again, were the easy part of other peoples schedule.

The team aint makin noise if they make it. Make noise in the draft.

The most disheartening thing about this for me is that making noise in the draft has as much to do with making this team more interesting to watch than anything else.

Maybe it's because of the expectations coming into the year, but I can probably count on one hand how many games had me out of my seat and rooting hard for this team and that sucks.

Right? I do believe the expectations got the better of a lot of us. I don't know if I do include myself in that group... but regardless of if I do or not, the team has been far far far underwhelming given last year.

I haven't really gotten excited about a game much this year. Even when we lose in the last second it's like "Eh, the team as a whole this season doesn't make that hurt."

Now, last year? Hell yeah those hurt. Not this year.

That is one of my biggest gripes.....that far too many times, the Blazer come out thoroughly unprepared to play. 12- 1, 18-1, 30-10.....those are unacceptable starts. I ref gradedschool games where there is sometimes a massive talent disparity that don't get that out of hand that early.

There is little intensity, or effort outside of Vonleh. Say what you will about his production, he is at least busting his but for 6 minutes before he sits down and doesn't get to play again until the 2nd half...if at all. I'll take that effort over the les a faire attitude from more veteran, accomplished players that are getting blown out of the gym with seemingly not a care in the world.
