I agree, but knowing, and being able to do something about it, are completely different things. Olshey tried to do that with Turner, he was the best available, it hasn't worked out. Who else is clearly a better option (not a roll of the dice, that's what Turner was), and realistically available?

For better or worse, I would have taken Fournier from what was available that Summer. I just didn't get why Olshey was paying SO MUCH money to someone who couldn't shoot. Fournier shoots so much better.

I don't like it because I reckon Dame, and CJ would drive, kick the ball to Evans, who would brick the three (career 31.4% 3P%, although yes, he has gotten better in the last couple of seasons).

Also Evans is a 2, not a 3; can you envisage him trying to guard Durant?

I think Love would get abused by modern NBA 4's who would just drive around him. So you have to play him at the 5, which benches Nurk, and tanks our defence.
You're basing Evans size of his height without regard for his incredible 7ft wingspan. Evans can play the 3. He has a taller standing reach than Evan Turner, and is very strong.

I would've thought that they had way more points off of our turnovers.

Evans is a ball dominant tweener with no real position. As a rule, I'm not a fan of tweeners. They have to be really special to make it work.

I have a feeling Evans is fool's gold.
He's doing what he's doing as the number one perimeter option for a bad team with 0 talent around him. He's always been super talented he's just battled injuries. He's turned himself into a very good shooter as well.

Kind of tough to overcome shooting 60% on volume 3's. :dunno: But just keep chipping away, they should regress sometime soon. Play yo' game, Blazers.

I agree, however I wonder about Fournier's defense. I assume he's not very good defensively, but admittedly I do not have enough first hand knowledge or done enough research to confirm.

I think ET is also a 2, not a 3; but fair enough, I'll try to keep an eye out the next time Evans guards James, Durant, George, etc, and see how he does.

Outside of our big 3: 2-10FG, 4TOVs.

I simply don't think it's sustainable.

He's average defensively.

That's the thing tho. They aren't playing their game. Blazers force other teams to pass on threes-- Toronto not doing that at all because the defense just isn't there like usual. Not fighting hard enough over picks, and giving up open looks from the corners. Just not normal Stotts defense.

I thought they were about to call back-to-back fouls on nurk there.
