Woe is me, doom and gloom. We lost the game in the finals seconds, by 1 point, and somehow the Blazers/Stotts are nothing more than crap now.

It seems these people clearly missed the memo that the Blazers were missing, Nurk, Gasol, Collins and Whiteside for the entire game, and Hood left the game late injured, to make a total of 5 important pieces, mostly big men, the Blazers were missing from their roster.

The Blazers got destroyed in the paint without our big men. I was surprised to see that we only got out rebounded by 10 as small as our team was last night. A bigger surprise to see was that the Blazers shot 57.7% from the field and 55.9% from 3 point land. Their offense was on fire last night!

I saw a lot of great play by some of our bench. Sure the team had their moments of malaise, but so did the 76'ers or the Blazers would have never gotten such a big lead in the first place.

I can't wait to see this team once all of our injured return. I think we are all in for some excitement then. :lollipop:

Lmao. He has the best hands of any big man our team. Ridiculous notion
He juggled a ton of rebounds last night....4 boards in 22 minutes the fans would've skewered Meyers for that....he dropped dish offs in the paint from Dame....he has long arms but corralling the ball is an area I believe he could really improve upon...Horford has good hands

KJ, this is not hindsight. Hurd said on the broadcast before the play that you always switch picks in that situation.
Look i'm not gonna argue this with you. Who gives a rats ass what Hurd said? What you are doing is using hindsight to make a case about something you were not part of. Hope you enjoy the rest of the season. This is exactly why i no longer work hard to dissect games and write pregames consistently. When you make the experience work it's no longer is fun.

I personally enjoyed that game last night. Looking forward to them getting a little healthier and playing the Warriors.

Just my opinion but Coaching always has it's moments and I think there are ample things to complain about in this game and the SAS games especially, but the bigger issue to me is just the lack big man bodies right now. Tolliver isn't a Center, Skal's only "kind of" a center (at least he's tall enough). I found last night kind of annoying, it shouldn't have come down to the last few minutes, they had that game in hand. A lot of posters said they have "50 win" talent on their roster, well Sans, "Hood, Collins, Nurk, Whiteside, Pau", they really don't. The real blow came when Hood got hurt. I'm not sure Skal has the conditioning yet to play that many minutes we have to remember he hasn't really ever been expected to play huge minutes (maybe at times his first year or in Sac?).

This was the 1st game home after a road trip. With another game Monday on the road. Yeah, they need to take care of business and shouldn't be giving up these huge leads, the other side of that is the Schedule for them is about as hard as I've ever seen a team have, it's ridiculous... Now they're fighting a crazy schedule and a bunch of injuries. The goal still has to be, try to stay around .500, and get healthy. Games you're up by double digits and choke away don't help but they still sit at 3-3 after all that with a winnable game vs GoldenStates G-League team. Long season, I feel like Stotts does have some blame in there losses, but also I prepared myself going in to the season just ride it out till 20-25 games and then I'd feel more comfortable passing judgment.

The Good news is Anf is looking comfortable, made a huge clutch shot (even though they made one on the other end), with the guard position as light as it is, they need Simons to keep having games like that and keep growing and getting better.

Let me say one thing. It sure was nice to see Lillard pass the ball to Simmons with a couple seconds left for a go ahead shot. That speaks volumes to me. No chance he makes that pass last year until late in the season to Curry maybe. Glad he is there already with Simons.

Tolliver was in the huddle and said the gameplan was for him not to switch. So there goes that theory.

As for confrontation, you could've responded to that post but instead decided to come at me. Now I'm the confrontational one?

How does that change the theory? I said maybe Lillard told Stotts he could fight through the screen and didn;t want a switch is what I said and maybe that's why Stotts went with that strategy.Has nothing to do with what Tolliver said. Wanna try again?

PS: You made a post asking why people didn't respond to your post and I offered a possibility. That's not attacking, that's responding to a request. Also when one uses fuck this and fuck that in their style, it's usually going to be perceived as confrontational.

Why are we not allowed to discuss something as simple as switching picks.
hoops you can discuss anything here but belittling someone else's take by sensationalizing them doesn't create discussion, it creates division from the get go. My part of that discussion is that we lost that game before the .4 and I can live with that last shot, didn't think he had a prayer of making it watching it. You didn't like the coverage and neither did Lamar Hurd....I didn't listen to the Hurd broadcast I was watching the Philly stream..I could point out that with better clock management there wouldn't have been .4 left after the winning shot on our side...if nobody responds to your post, what's the point of highlighting it and reposting it? It's like, c'mon guys....admit I'm a better game strategist than the Blazer coach...here's proof! Lamar Hurd agrees with me! You might be right but you weren't making that split decision with .4 seconds on the court...and if you were, you might have been focused on something else entirely....one coach loses every game..I honestly enjoyed last night's game more than any loss I can remember in a while.

I have been waiting for us to have 6 rotation guys in double digit scoring....we had that I think last night...that's a sign of good things to come...Mario had a solid double double game...

Without placing blame , is there anyone who thinks the defense by the Blazers for the last shot by Philadelphia was good? If you're up by 2 points, and with 2 seconds left so you likely won't get a chance to score again, as the first priority you cannot allow the other team to shoot a 3-pointer.
Ben Simmons was inbounding the ball and should have not been defended at all. The play happened in front of the Blazer bench. Skal Labissiere could have been somewhere else, like on the 3-point line near the inbounder, looking for something similar to what actually happened. The 76ers ran a predictable play for the highest percentage 3-point attempt, one that the Blazers should have never allowed.
The worst case scenario should have been a very difficult 3-point attempt or a tie game.

It wasn't good enough....listen to Dame's exit interview...he's pretty clear about it..it was blown coverage and they set a good screen...I really don't think anyone disagrees that we let this one slip....we being the team...

You already admitted that you tune out any criticism of the coach. I have an entire page of game notes I'll post for you.

Here's the deal:

If you think that was a fun game and were entertained and aren't worried about it then fine! I love that you aren't bothered by a loss like that or don't want to blame anyone on the team or staff. If you can find the joy to games like that then more power to you!

I'm not like that. I agonize over blowing a game like that. I am providing actual examples of why I don't like certain things, not just attacking players or coaches. We blew 3 similar games in the WCF last year. I want to see this team take the next step and I don't believe that Stotts is the right guy to do so. That should be okay too.

So my trade question was serious, I would think the injuries might speed up Neil making and move. Can anyone think of a Rodney Hood level of player that plays PF on someone else’s roster that might flourish here like Rodney has?

save it for your podcast...I've listened to it and read a lot of your takes on the coach..no problem but I'm a fan of Terry Stotts not only when he wins but when he loses..he's not screaming about scapegoats to make himself look better, he's respecting an Al Horford .....I let Stotts beat himself up when he watches game film after games because I know he does that...if he blew a call he'll own it. What I don't do is heckle him after a close, well fought game that we lose short handed.

Once again, it has nothing to do with his personality. He's solid regular season coach.

If you know I'm critical of Stotts then you also know that it's way more than one game.

There are multiple confrontational posters on here, number 1 changes on a weekly basis. Personally I don’t pay it much attention. There are a lot of ways to reply to a post you don’t agree with, the most common ways i see on here are to attack the poster or debate the subject matter of the post in a non offensive way to the poster. The first is a lot easier, the second is a lot better.

This will open up more on December 15th when a lot more players are trade eligible.

It's a hard question to answer though. What about Larry Nance Jr? Not the greatest contract in terms of matching salary though. Kelly Olynyk? Similar contract and he's probably more of a center.

I still think Otto Porter would be a good move and he can play PF. The easiest move would be Baze and a 1st for Gallo, but I'm not sure I like that.

The problem is we're so depleted right now so trades are difficult to make considering our best two trade chips are Baze and Whiteside.
