I'm not sure Stotts is doing the best job developing Lillard.

Huh what? The team is 7-2, just rolled to a road win, and is playing as well as I've seen since the last good Roy season.

Lillard had a solid game tonight.

So what? Lillard should be handling the ball, he's our second best player. Stotts is being an idiot essentially using him as a spot up shooter. Mo can handle the ball when Damian is on the bench, let Mo be the shooting guard when both are in the game.

Are you being serious here?

Yes, I don't like how Stotts is using Lillard. You should know better than anyone that unpopular opinions are still opinions.

It seems like he's trying to draw fouls, but the refs aren't giving him the benefit of the doubt at all.

He had a decent game, but 4 fouls and 6 turnovers really hurt his ability to get into a rhythm.

I thought Lillard had a rough game at the point, and was basically benched for it by being pulled off of the ball in crunch time. He made some very bad decisions, Mo Williams was running the point much better, so Lillard sat a bit and then played some SG. That's called coaching, IMO. Take care of the ball. Hell, this is the first time I've actually respected Stotts, ever!! Hopefully Damian watching the film and sees what he can do better as the PG. Still love his game, but he really wasn't coached last year, IMO, and with a better team, isn't going to be able to be ball-dominant as much this year until he takes better care of the basketball.

Uh, Stotts is not using Lillard as a spot up shooter....Lillard was getting shut down at the rim, and all he had was his jumper. Spot up shooters don't get 15 shots.

Not just this game, on the season. Lillard is basically a three point shooter. Batum and Mo Williams are the primary playmakers. Stats reflect it too, lower turnovers, higher volume threes, lower assists.

Blazer blew up and Boston tanked at the end
49% - 46% shooting Portland

15-8 fast break points Portland

36-44 points in the paint Boston

Made up 18 rebounds on Boston from the half
47-34 rebounds Portland

Got sloppy at the end so the turnovers got inflated (9 in the 4th for Port - Dame had 6 total)
18-15 turnovers Boston

Points off turnovers
20-17 Portland

Points were all about sharing the sugar with 21 ast on 40 makes (boston 17 on 37)
Points: Mo 18 LA 27 Wes 13 Batum 18 Dame 17

LA with 12 boards, 3 huge offensive
Lopez with 10

He seemed unstoppable in the first few games of the season. I wonder if teams changed how they're defending him.

I'm just stating the reality of the situation.

Will someone rep this for me. I already rep'd an earlier post. The rookie is bringing strong.

Is Mags running the trailblazer twitter?

Them saying WCF run after tonight. Ugh.

I think he's too reliant on the 3-point shot at times and stagnates the offense. I'm a huge Lillard fan, so I expect him to accept this challenge from the coaching staff and take his PG game to a higher level.

I think he'll figure it out. It seems like he's trying to go to the hole more. I would love to see him develop a mid-range game like Mo though.

I'm like you in that I'd like to see him get the foul calls when he blows by the defender and gets to the rim. It's getting hard to watch him drive, get hammered, and nothing happens. I'm sure it's impacting his game a bit. He should really just keep beating defenders on the dribble, and make it become a farce when he isn't given FTs.

He draws contact on pretty much every drive, but it amazes me how neither Dame, nor Aldridge, seem to get any love from the refs.

He worked a lot on his defense in the offseason and it shows in his play. Now, I want to see him work on finishing and ball handling. Will help a lot with isolations and playmaking.

How do you work on finishing though?
