Lmao
Franchise players always get their stats tweaked by one thing folks don't talk about. Shot clock shots. They always end up in the star's hands and they are usually low percentage shots. You look at the collective achievement of this team and the success is evident. If you dissect it you only get a limited bit of the puzzle.
Last year 17% of LA's shots came with 21 or more seconds on the shot clock, and he made 40% of those, the same % he hit overall on his mid/long range jump shot. Contrast that to a player who shot very efficiently last year. Matthews shot 14% of his shots with 21+ seconds, and he made 47%.
Or look at a very efficient stretch 4 like Dirk Nowitski, he was able to hit 53.5% of his jumpers and 49% with 21+ seconds on the shot clock. Chris Bosh also took 17% of his shots that late but hit 49% of them, and 50% of his jumpers overall.
It's quite simple, LaMarcus Aldridge is not a top tier offensive player, he's a inefficient volume shooter, the stats prove it any way you look at it.
This year, 14% of his shots come with <5 seconds on the shot clock, and he only hits 20% on those.where did you find those stats for the shot clock?

Look who is ranked 193rd. Just below offensive juggernaught Roy Hibbert.

And of course there's a bell curve here, where the best are low volume opportunist scorers, but the really efficient guys are up there in the 60% range. Curry, Matthews, Lillard, Paul, Davis, Cousins, Nowitski.
Take a look at the people in LA's range.
LaMarcus Aldridge has recorded 10+ rebounds for the ninth straight game, the longest such streak in the NBA this season.
Sigh!
Win another road game, and the prevalent talk is bitching about LA?!?!?
Damn people, enjoy seeing greatness bloom.
His character and skill are a joy for any basketball fan to see.
It never ceases to baffle me either, I just don't get it.

you know, it's funny... lma only shoots 16 fga.
duncan? 15. on less minutes.
Yup, Aldridge is the leading scorer and leading rebounder on a team that is 17-4. If that's considered "hurting his team" I'll take it.
BNM
Aldridge is definitely forcing up shots more this year than I'm used to him taking. But to say Aldridge has a "bad" offensive game has got to be one of the most idiotic statements I have ever read.
Just checking out the thread here on the late night......is this tool serious about LA? What a fucking joke this guy is. There's probably 27 or 28 teams in the NBA that would take LA as their starting PF. And he's comparing him to Duncan, arguably the BEST PF ever? Get this guy the fuck outta here.
So if we are winning and you aren't happy with LMA's play then logic tells me you must feel that LMA's inefficient shooting will eventually hurt us and cause us to lose more? Because in the end winning is what matters. Am I understanding you right? I'm trying to see the logic in your arguments. So far, none of you have refuted anything I said with any kind of logic or reasoning.

I get that you want them to win but you kind of didn't answer my question, do you think they will lose if they continue going to LMA as they have been and him taking the shots that he has been?I want the team to win, and don't care about an individual player accumulating a lot of points. For example, how would you guys feel if we had Kobe Bryant on our team instead of LA, and he was putting up 20 shots a game, leading us in scoring, yet was one of the least efficient in the league at it? Wouldn't you want to see him cut back on his shots?
