The Warriors have already made their decision. They'll just wait to the last minute to let everyone know.
How about Team USA? Are they on the blazers payroll as well? And a medical staff can have a huge influence on Dame's decision whether or not to have surgery.
"Dame, there is a strong chance surgery won't even help."
He played with a serious problem for 3-4yrs that finally was corrected with surgery. Doesn't sound like the Warriors would have allowed Dame to play that long with that injury.
What I haven't seen/heard is the real possibility that it was aggravated or reinjured after he was cleared to play.I remember reading that in the NBA protocol in the case of a player returning to action after surgery, was he had to be cleared by both the team doctor(s) and the surgeon(s) who performed the surgery. Payton's surgery was performed by two highly regarded orthopedic surgeons in Philadelphia
so this may be a case of a 1st and 2nd medical opinion vs a 3rd medial opinion
I'm now concerned about the Blazers' medical staff and how they treated Lillard. He had the same injury and played on it for years. Makes me wonder who, Lillard or the medical staff, was advocating for him NOT to have the surgery.
Want to see a picture of a chick with a big ass?Go sit in your corner, dog!
hasn't it been reported that Dame had been declining surgery? he finally gave in after getting feedback from Jrue Holiday at Team USA and after speaking with Kyle Lowry. Hell he even tried to play through it last season until New Years, when he had to be sit down by Cronin et al. Once he found out we were tanking he finally gave in.And a medical staff can have a huge influence on Dame's decision whether or not to have surgery.

Monte Poole, the beat writer for GS just said in an interview that Payton’s injury timeline is not months, but weeks.
already walking it all back piece by piece
Thats not what i said.So he was medically cleared to play until it was in the team's interest for him not to be.

We definitely don't know everything yet, so we can't make definitive statements. With that said, I tend to agree with this assessment. It seems like there was some bad blood or animosity behind the scenes and GP is being a petty bitchbaby trying to smear the Blazers on the way out. I could be way off though and will admit to being wrong if I am proven wrong. We shall see. This almost sounds like the problem is not the Blazers or the Warriors but either GP2 and/or his reps etc but even if this is resolved with nothing bad happening to the Blazers makes me wonder if other teams might be a tad gun shy dealing with themfor the near future.

The good news for Payton and the Trail Blazers is this is an injury expected to heal fairly quickly and Payton should not miss much, if any, of the season.
2-3 weeks? That's a big jump from 3 months just 24 hours ago. That side needs to get their story straight.
Bottom line. Blazers weren’t transparent. About the shots or how hurt he was. Lied about it. Blatantly. Said he was much healthier than he really was. Everyone can get defensive and hate Payton all they want. But this terrible on Portland’s part.

are you saying the Blazers didn't tell the Warriors about the injections?
by the way, how many injections were there...do you know?
According to Marks, the NBA has a database where teams can upload and review all medical records.Bottom line. Blazers weren’t transparent. About the shots or how hurt he was. Lied about it. Unless the Blazers deliberately withheld something and were non-compliant, then this is just biased reporting coming out of GS. Let the league review what was and wasn't on the records then I'll believe this accusation.
