Hopefully some of y'all can quit dogging Terry MF Stotts now

It comes down to style of play. I know the Warriors have talent but watch the way they play. Now watch the way we play.

Night and day difference. One team pushes the ball, moves the ball extremely well, moves players, has creative, unique sets to put players in a position of strength. They switch up their defensive schemes regularly. The other team plays a very slow halfcourt offense, which doesn't move players and runs the same few, basic sets which is easy to trap. They also run one defensive scheme all year.

That's what it comes down to.
It's time for change. Terry has been with us for 7 seasons. We have won exactly 4 playoff series in that tenure. And the offense/defense have only been getting more stale every year. We will get absolutely hammered in the media for letting Stotts go, but the Terry's flaws only get magnified the deeper we go into the playoffs.

We need a battle-tested tactician who can hold his players accountable. Unfortunately, most of these guys have massive egos and can be assholes, but that is the price to pay for experience. I want someone like SVG.

My question:

Why can teams take our best player out of this series while we let their best player do whatever the fuck he wants?

I hear people say Dame's game is easy to take him out, shouldn't that same philosophy work at least somewhat on Curry?

Because both Nurk AND Kanter our outlet valves are injured.

How do you figure our offense/ defense keeps getting more stale every year? Our defense has taken a big jump and our offense has been near the top as well. Depending on what metrics are used we were ranked #5 in defense and 4th in offensive efficiency. If you have something to prove otherwise then let's see it.

Unless I'm blind we are 17th in defensive efficiency.

Also regular season coaching and playoff coaching is not the same.

Unreal. Down 3-0, facing another season ending sweep, and all some people can think of is protecting Stotts.

Unreal, in the WCF and a 3rd seed in a year we were predicted to probably miss the playoffs and people still want to whine and cry about Stotts. If you guys are so tired of posters showing support for Stotts then don't continuously whine about him on a daily basis.

Two sides to every coin. :bgrin:

No you didn’t, you sorted by wins. Take your link and sort by DEF EFF, has us at 16th.

ah, I see. I just searched for defensive rankings and that's how it came up. Thanks. If you go back through previous years, we were below this years ranking except for last year. I'm also not a fan of defensive rankings as it's hard to rank defense.

Defensive efficiency is literally how many points are given up per 100 possessions. As far as defensive stats go, team defensive efficiency is about as unbiased as you can be, since it will take into account all factors.

Choosing to dismiss a stat because it doesn’t fit your narrative is.....well it’s not great.

Does it include opponent free throws in the points per possesion ratio?

Well we are all entitled to our own opinion and if you think defensive stats are great then hat's certainly your prerogative. I would expect the same courtesy.

Huh? I'm just point out the flaws in your logic. So now you're saying offensive efficiency is a reliable stat but defensive efficiency isn't, when they are essentially the same stat. Especially considering the context of the post that YOU responded to, about our offense/defense becoming stale.

Offensive and defensive efficiency are two sides of the same coin. Offense = how many points you score per 100 possessions. Defense = how many points you give up per 100 possessions. Since the whole point of basketball is to score more points than your opponent, over the course of an 82 game sample size these two stats measure how well a team's offense/defense is doing. And since you want to bring up past years, in 2017/18 we were 8th in defensive efficiency, but 16th in offense. Are you going to say that Stotts has us as both a good offensive and defensive team last year? Or does only defensive efficiency matter in this case?

You are definitely entitled to your opinion. But I am also entitled to question your credibility when you use statistics to back up those opinions. Then misinterpret those statistics and backtrack on said opinion because they don't actually support the point you're trying to make.

You never answered my question. Also, do you think we have become more stale offensively and defensively every year under Stotts? That was the point I was discussing. If you don't want to answer questions, that's fine and we can both move on.

What question am I supposed to answer? I'm not the person you responded to in the beginning. I'm pointing out the flaws in the logic and stats that YOU used to support YOUR opinion.

Actually, never mind. We will just have to move on.

Right. But your/their eyes can’t be everywhere. I guess I should start reading some of these posts with the mental tag line of “...in my opinion”. Instead of people writing like they have the answers.
You should read all posts on a forum as opinions; that's what people do on forums.

If YOU go back and read my posts you will see the questions I have posed to you. You also didn't answer the questions in my last post. Makes it hard to actually have a discussion when questions aren't answered so we might as well end it now.

I'm not trying to have a conversation with you. I'm pointing out the flaws in your logic. That is all.

I'm just exposing the idiocy in your posts for the rest of the people in this forum.

So really?

Why don't you think this is a personal insult?

Tell a woman she's "acting like" a bitch and see what happens. You'll probably get a facefull of water.

water if you are lucky. I was thinking much worse.

Cup never insults anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How dare you!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol. and here comes hoopsjocko trying to pile on. You really crack me up jocko. first you try and start something with kj and now me.

This is what I get for defending your honor?????????????????????????

I'm not starting shit with @kjironman1. I think even he agreed that he was really sour on CJ after that game for awhile.

It's pretty funny that you say someone is acting like an asshole and then try to act like poor Cup is being piled on when your bullshit is called out.

When someone points out that you are not correct with a statistic you tried to claim supported your argument maybe try just saying oops my bad instead of doubling down and then resorting to name calling.

Here's a question:

For about 4 yrs now, Vanterpool and Tibbets have been interviewed for open coaching positions. They are always at the forefront of candidates. Woj continually tweets about them and has even endorsed them as solid on a bunch of podcasts. DV, especially has been considered the guard whisperer.

Yet, why has neither of them been offered a job? Is this an indictment on Stotts?

I still think losing Jay Triano in the summer of 2016 was a big loss that never really gets mentioned. He left to be Earl Watson's lead assistant.

It's so hard to tell if what you are saying is on Stotts. It could be they are both bad interviewers which wouldn't be the fault of Stotts at all.

Memphis is interviewing Tibbets.
