Two people consenting to a relationship, shouldn't be a problem. Makes me wonder, was said woman staff member married?

Waiting for the Pics to come out of the woman. They seldom are as hot as the ones they cheated on. This will cost him millions.

I doubt it... dude took his team to the Finals in his first year. It's an affair. If the Celtics fire him, he'll get another job.

she's an actress and they have a kid and been together 10 years.

What’s her role on the Celtics staff?

‪Damn that’s ridiculous a year long suspension. The relationship was consensual by two grown adults. Sure, discipline needs to happen I get that but a year long suspension? That’s completely excessive. They gave the racist owner a year long suspension for completely worse behavior.. smh ‬

Only consensual if they were co-workers. Ime would be considered her boss and that makes it a huge no-no.

The only way he'd be considered her boss is if she was on the coaching staff. If she works for the organization, her boss isn't the head coach of the basketball team.

I am sure he will but it doesn't mean it won't cost him a few million. I did read it wrong however, I thought I read that he slept with the wife of one of his staffers. That article has since been taken down.

My thoughts. Was she or he in any way coerced?

Even if she was married, that is for her and her spouse to resolve.

He can have a direct and huge influence on her job. He can go to the GM and/or team president and have her removed, transferred, and/or fired from her position with the team.

That is true, but that doesn't make her her boss though.

Based on the limited facts I'm aware of I think the punishment is extremely excessive. I can only assume there is more to it to justify the consequences.

In this situation if she was someone who had a position that was lower than him in the organization, his position in the organization is so prevalent that it wouldn't really matter if she was under his line of command and I'm sure if they are suspending him this was covered in HR training. So I agree with Sly.

Ime was just Horny… Cmon Celtics
Guaranteed this was something that was covered in training that was explicitly forbidden... if he was horny he should have hooked up with someone he hadn't been told he couldn't hook up with. Believe me the Celtics wouldn't be suspending someone who just performed as well as Ime did last season unless they felt they absolutely had to in order to cover their asses.

Ime makes the decision about who is on his coaching staff. He makes hiring and firing decisions. While he may not be her direct supervisor he is in a position of power that could directly affect her employment status.
Again, I am sure this was covered in training and has a correlating document that Ime signed. I think the Celtics have to feel like their hands are tied with this one. Most likely they have suspended or fired someone for the same violation and are taking action against Ime so a person that has had action taken against them in the past doesn't have legal recourse against the team. This has to be about liability because of how well Ime did. The Celtics wouldn't be losing any time with the guy if they thought that was an option.

There is huge liability in this for the Celtics.

Yeah, call me jaded but I don't think the Celtics are doing this out of some noble moral obligation or to win points with the ACLU. I think they have to be covering their asses because when you take away a coach that got a young team as far as he did and that team improved their roster and should expect their roster to just get better because their best players are getting close to their prime... this organization had to feel like they were compelled to take this action.

Maybe Brad wants to coach again and is bored with the front office.

No, this is not out of some noble moral obligation. This is because of liability and could put the team and league in a compromising position. What Ime did was stupid. He could have been blackmailed over this. "You need to throw tomorrow night's game or I'm telling your wife about us."
