.Do not vote for this guy...he's a recipe for disaster beyond your wildest dreams..yeah..walking around meeting real americans doesn't mean anything..he prefers TV as his campaign tool of choice..that alone speaks volumes about how disconnected this guy is
Do not vote for this guy...
Someone that wants to tax you 2.2 trillion dollars per year because you don't know how to spend the 3 trillion per year. And you recommend voting for..?
Sadly, nobody right now but I'll vote against Trump in the end if I can't have a candidate I can get optimistic about. And you recommend voting for..?
We keep people alive in this country that should be dead...it's a new trend and immigration doesn't dent the number of folks we have hooked up to life support or on 24 hr caregiving programs..we just won't let folks die here if they can be propped up and feed the big prescription drug cartel that's raking in billions..fly over this country and we are not even close to being overcrowded compared to India or China..I can not understand how anyone can be for more immigration without one very important question being answered. How many poeple should this country have?
Everyone knew 600 million people was too many for China and China is larger than the US. China took drastic measures to reduce the population growth and reached 1.5 billion people before they got it under control. The US is on the path to reaching 600 to 800 million before the end of this century. Who the hell thinks that is good? Why the hell are we doing this?
All I read to support this free for all immigration is complete feel good shit. The one about getting more people to paying social security taxes is a complete joke. You don't fix a Ponzi scheme by enrolling more pawns on the bottom rung.
You sir are ignoring the facts. We are on track to exceed the population of where China was when everyone knew it was too many.we are not even close to being overcrowded compared to India or China..
Iowa has half the population of Portland..you're right about the coasts, we don't like shitty weather here and tend to overcrowd the southern beaches...Maine has empty beaches though. I don't know how many people is a proper population here but I grew up in a county with 3000 people and that county still has about 3000 people..You sir are ignoring the facts. We are on track to exceed the population of where China was when everyone knew it was too many.
The fly over is not all that desirable as a place to live otherwise we would not cluster on the coast like we do.
You also ignored the salient question, How many?
I don't know how many people is a proper population here..
China is a poor example, they've had 15 thousand years of documented growth, we've had a few hundred. I'll say that I think this generation in the US is probably the most careful generation in my lifetime. My son and his friends who are in their mid twenties are not making babies like previous generations have here and as I said...some folks need to die naturally but we've found profit in sustaining their existance which I believe is a factor.OK! let us try another direction. If 600 million was too much for China, Should we take the jump to 600 million and hope it turns out alright?
China is a poor example
I don't understand your concept of taking the jump..to me it's a slower process that occurs over a much longer timeframe than I think you're talking about herePoor example? Well sir, they are not many that have ever reached the point of having too many.
At any rate, assume China is a poor example (one of the very few larger than the US in area), Should we take the jump to 600 million and just hope it turns out alright?
You know Marz...at 61 I can look back in wonder at the changes in only six decades has brought to the entire world...I'm not surprised by population increase anymore than I am by the internet. Oregon at least has legal euthanasia laws that I will take advantage of if I'm looking at suffering for a long time or moving on. I probably have never felt humans growth on the planet would turn out right but just tried to keep my own carbon footprint to a minimum even though it won't make much of an impact.Poor example? Well sir, they are not many that have ever reached the point of having too many.
At any rate, assume China is a poor example (one of the very few larger than the US in area), Should we take the jump to 600 million and just hope it turns out alright?
We are on the list whether we want to be or notMy guess is there is a short list of countries with too many people.
China
India
Mexico
Indonesia
Some getting close
Kenya
Brazil
Hati
USA <---Should we allow it to get on this list?

This makes me happy.Sadly, nobody right now but I'll vote against Trump in the end if I can't have a candidate I can get optimistic about.
It is interesting and correct that you bring up this phrase in this conversation. The individual has little he or she can do in a life time to alter the carbon footprint you leave.my own carbon footprint
