I've thought the same thing. Obviously a better outside shooter at the same point but very similar otherwise.Kind of plays like a young Jerami Grant when he was a role player.
Walker had a 90 second or so stretch towards the end of the 3rd. He swished a corner 3, defensive rebound, behind the back assist, and a block. Teammates don't pass the ball to him but he made a putback, couple free throws. 9 very efficient pts for the game. This dude is good.
I'm more of a 3 and D poster. I post about 3 times before I end up being a Dick. That applies to posting on message boards, too.
That would certainly be a great asset to have. I don’t know if he’d ever be a starting SF, but we saw what Watford did to his body after some encouragement from Chauncey to lose weight, so who knows.I think he has the lateral quickness to play SF full-time.
He should get minutes right away - maybe even as the eventual starter
Would have to look at the scoreboard and add them yourself. I don’t think they list player stats for SL on ESPN/NBA websites or other stats websites.Anyone know to compiled summer league stats? I'd like to check his, seems like he's done well.

ortg of 149.1!Advanced numbers are insane
In a drastic contrast to our summer league "point guards", Walker doesn't play favorites or hesitate to make the right pass to his teammates.
I was disgusted with Brandon William when Garza ran to the hoop uncovered and Williams seemed to be incapable of even throwing up one of his bad shot attempts to get Garza an easy basket. Instead, he called Garza back to set a pick for himself. Yuck.
Compare that to Walker, who had the ball in the left corner, saw an open Garza, tossed him the ball, and Garza drilled the 3-pointer.
You'd think all the things Walker does are common sense and reflexive, but looking at his teammates, that is obviously not the case.

i know his dad has beat down the "role player" mantra into him and he's definitely embraced it, but I want to increase his usage to see if his production scales. SL is the right setting for this kinda experiment.yeah...they are impressive, even with the context of summer league and sample size
Unless if coach demands his PG gets the ball to him, we aren't likely to see it. Multiple times i've seen him open, and the PG , or ball handler ignored him.i know his dad has beat down the "role player" mantra into him and he's definitely embraced it, but I want to increase his usage to see if his production scales. has to be an organizational mindset, but we have only 1 more game to possibly do it. remember when coaches decided to make BRoy the PG in his summer league stint to see if he could run the team?Unless if coach demands his PG gets the ball to him, we aren't likely to see it. ESPN does the same thing, why can't we.LOL, Blazers fans being Blazers fans. The guy is looking good so far, short sample size though and not against NBA level.
Can we not get too high or too low too soon? Some of you are getting too giddy over summer league play.
Let's not all forget even Qyntel Woods has tore up summer league before....let that sink in...
You guys love to big a guy up too soon in here only to enjoy tearing them back down if they don't meet your high expectations quickly (lots did that with Ant and now look at your guys)
good fundamental player, but.....In a drastic contrast to our summer league "point guards", Walker doesn't play favorites or hesitate to make the right pass to his teammates.

Anyway my point is that Walker empowers his teammates the way all Blazers should.
