Hmmmm if I try to link to a specific time it breaks the link. Sorry. I tried to start the video when he walks in.

3:12 is when he starts.

Givony from Draft Express on Sportscenter said we had the best draft. Yet it's hard to be excited.

I like Joe! Way better than Hollywood Neil… Joe is a blue collar guy. He makes the tough decisions that are best for the team and doesn’t let media bully him.
wait wait wait.

what "tough" decision has he made? he has damn near lost every trade at both deadlines, and didn't bother picking up his phone during both drafts.

The end result is Sharpe and Scoot… so don’t know what we lost.

dame.

and a shit ton of games.
Nope. The person that might have lost Dame is NeO. Cronin is the guy that's doing the cleanup after that mess. It's a shame people complain that when that mess is cleaned up - it does not immediately becoms an ideal mountain top in the Alps with flower fields and the sound of music track.

cronin has had 2 trade deadlines and 2 drafts, but still the blame is on olshey.

what "mess" was cronin cleaning tonight? he built almost this entire roster on his own and lost a record number of games to tank while lying through his teeth about adding vets and size.

The idea that the mess was going to be cleaned up on a dime. The mess is still based on what he inherited, he said from the start it will take a while, he was right, but the blazers now have a real foundation for the future, they didn't before.

I don't think Cronin is awesome, but to pretend like this roster isn't asset weak because of what it took to get off 3 bad contracts, two years ago, is a bit naive. The impacts of stuff like that is likely to last many years, there is a butterfly effect when you start out from behind.

I think he has been given his marching orders and he's trying to improve the team within the constraints of those orders.

It's like watching Moneyball. He's having to ask other teams to stock his coke machine for a year.

Let's be honest on paper that might be true but at what cost -- Dame saying good bye is not worth it -- PERIOD

However we are not at that point and there still is time for this to be repaired but we will need a miracle and Cronin to grow a brain so not holding my breath on that one.

I tend to agree with you on this. We're trying to do moneyball, without the strategic or analytical advantage.

Glad to hear that he thinks the best move was to keep the pick. And he picked BPA over need which I respect.

Trader Joe hasnt been so good, but draft Joe... i'm liking that guy. Loved that he thought about the long term of this. Thats the smart way for this, and hes selling me on Scoot. My man is jacked up for Scoot!

So you think he should mortgage the future to build around a 33 year old LOL

Its why going to get Zion or some other player for the #3 would have been fucking stupid. Zion cant see the floor, then we lose a #3 and probably Dame too when he sees we mortgaged the rest of his prime for either mediocre or an oft-injured player.

This was the best thing we could have done for now and the long term. Anything else is just impatience. These rookie contracts are gold. Now, Joe still has a lot of work, but he set it up very nicely.

i'm 100% fine with maximizing assets and setting up future moves. i wanted us to take scoot.

but he did NOTHING else to even try to build a roster that can compete anytime soon. he sold us on this two-timeline stuff. but his moves indicate that the only timeline he's thinking of is the future. simply keeps kicking the can down the road.

How do you know what Cronin tried to do? He may have failed to do things, but I doubt anyone here knows what moves he did or didn't try to make.

Sharpe is NOT a small forward.
Are you saying he cannot play small forward at all? Or that is not his full-time position?

Why, unlike what Cronin said in the presser that is the basis of this thread, should we get hung up on position and size, rather than talent and skill?

If guys like Payton and Powell can play the 3 in stretches, it seems weird that Sharpe would not be able to match up with guys like that when they're at that spot.

Cronin stated in this presser that Sharpe can swing there, so... *shrug*

"trying" gets a kudos now? at the end of the day, he didn't. pat on the back for trying... uh maybe trying.
