I dont think he’d have said it without speaking to them though, I mean I suppose its possible.

Stotts says March 15 is the new "target date". The tweet was Nurkic saying he will return on the 15th. Maybe there was some difference of opinion on what "target date" means. I mean, remember when the target date was sometime in Feb ?

What if NOBODY will be able to see Nurk’s return live and in person?

Leaving room for the possibility of another setback would be my guess.

On the bright side, we had 26 assists tonight!

I think he should come off the bench for a while, ease into it. Towards Play-off time maybe we see both Nurk and Hassan out there together. Wow that’s an incredible defensive and offensive tandem at the 4/5.
I agree start him slow, but im not so sure about playing them together. Maybe in the 90’s but neither of them can cover outside shooters and we would be lit up with opponents 3pt shooting.
It used to be, you live and die by the three but in todays game Lot more teams live by it than die by it.

According to reports, the Bosnian Beast is almost back.

Chris Haynes at Yahoo! Sports posted an interview with Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkić, who has not played since breaking his left left in a double overtime victory versus the Brooklyn Nets on March 25, 2019, in which the 7-0 center says he will make his return in the March 15 game versus the Houston Rockets at the Moda Center...

Nurkic returned to practice on Jan. 23, and he’s been itching to rejoin his teammates in game action.

“I worked my ass off to be in position to get back on the court and help my team, but game speed is going to be different,” Nurkic told Yahoo Sports. “I’m not going to be playing 40 minutes. But for me, mentally, I need to get these reps in before I can play [extended minutes]. Physically, I’m good. I had a calf strain recently, which is normal for the injury I had. I’ve been pleased with where my rehab is going. I never doubted I’d be back, but I had to make sure I was 100 percent. I can’t wait for [March 15].”

Last season, Nurkic averaged career highs in points (15.6), rebounds (10.4) and field goal percentage (50.8). He played a vital role in helping the franchise advance to the conference finals for the first time in 19 years.

[...]

“It’s been a lot of ups and downs, but I’ve been there before. There were struggles and fun times, but mainly during my rehab I was focused on how I could get back to normal. How I can get the reps in to make sure I’m preparing myself properly. It’s been a crazy year with so many emotions, but I’m glad it’s finally time

The rim idk lol

But id like to see Nurk and Whiteside out there together just because you don’t know unless you try and if it doesn’t work out then Stotts just doesn’t keep with it
Thats what I try and say to people in regards to me playing in the NBA but they dont believe me.:dunno:

Nurk is being sent to Santa Cruz to practice with the G-League Warriors.

Does anyone else find it strange that all season they didn't want to have a timeline for his return but then set a date 9 days ahead of him playing and then in a week where the Blazers have 5 full days off any only 2 games until Sunday aren't practicing enough to the point where they entrust Nurk's care and final preparations to another organization?

It's like they got to the end and realized they were being too cautious and went the extreme other way.

could be the case

it could also be that Nurkic is pressing real hard against some resistance within management and the staff

Just watched Nurk's interview from today..
Quick asked if he would do a g league game and Nurk wasn't very polite with his reply.
"Are you kdding? You want ME to play in a g league game?"
Judging by that, I'd say he aint playin a g league game...
I mean (I'm sure you'll see it) he was almost pissed..
Oh believe me I've listened to it!

I know he wasn't going to play in a game. My point is with 5 full days off between the Kings game and Nurk's return with only 2 home games sprinkled in the other days, why aren't the Blazers practicing enough to get his "reps" in Portland?

They've been so good defensively lately maybe they don't need practice?

In the NFL they have regulations for practices and such do they have that for the NBA?

You didn't listen to Stotts. He mentioned there are ways to load manage guys and this is an opportunity to rest Lillard, McCollum, Whiteside and Ariza and Nurkic needs some 5 on 5 floor time.
