I just watch CJ on Uninterrupted call K Love a walking 27 & 13.
I call Kevin Love a very, VERY bad contract. I'm OK with KLove the player, but THEY would have to send us multiple picks. The biggest obstacle is that without Turner and Biebs, we no longer have bad contracts - we'd have to actually give up valuable players. This obstacle is actually insurmountable.

Yep they could have much easier traded him 3 months ago when he only made 24 mil. But Cleveland figured they would get more if they waited. Now they need to wait for a contender who becomes desperate because of injuries

Kevin Love to Portland Trade Suggestions Keep on Rolling

The most popular trade topic for the Blazers this summer will not die.

Kevin Love being traded to the Portland Trail Blazers has become the Story that Will Not Die in the summer of 2019. Like The Undertaker or a good horror movie villain, every time you think it’s properly dead, it rises again. This week Brad Botkin of CBS sports took a shot, naming the Blazers, Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, and Golden State Warriors as hot destinations for the veteran forward.

Botkin places that quintet of franchises in the middle of the Venn Diagram of interest, salary to spare, and assets to entice the Cleveland Cavaliers to move Love. Of Portland, Botkin says:

A Love deal with Portland could work with Hassan Whiteside representing the money and Nassir Little and/or Anfernee Simons representing the assets.

Whiteside will probably leave at the end of the year anyway. Would either of the young players mentioned be appropriate value for Love? Would this be a steal for Portland, a mistake, or something in between?

Love for Whiteside midseason, after Love has proved his health and Nurk is back, would be fine. But no way they get Simons. (I'm less adamant about Little, because I have a feeling he might be T-Rob mk. 2, but I hope to be proved wrong.) I think a lot depends on Dan Gilbert's recovery from his stroke. I have a feeling he would ask ridiculous sums for Love, because only someone who really overvalues him would've given him that contract.

I'd let them have Trent Jr and Little if that deal were in the making but not Simons ..

I can't imagine a trade package that they would be happy with. Cuz they ain't getting Simons or nurk etc. they are beggars at this point and they can choose from nas, trent jr., baze, hassan, picks etc.

I do believe hassan is going to be a huge asset. I think he will come around to a better mind set and easily , easily have a double double and 2 plus blocks a game.

cavs fans should be entertained by love's antics though.

I think it's worth a shot though to get him but maybe not until the deadline.

Are you Neil Olshey or Jody Allen? How do you know who they would be getting and who they're not?

Isn’t everything on here literally just a guess? Well, besides when people pretend like they have sources hehehhehe

I'm guessing Jodi is more of a shopper than Paul was...could be a blue light special on aisle 4 that she just has to have

I agree with you. I want to see how Baze and Whiteside perform for a few months, but obviously one of them would have to be included. IMO Zach and Baze would get it done but I would only offer Baze, Trent, and Skal and a protected 1st.

I would imagine that Neil would like to have a two headed monster at center of Nurk and Whiteside so I think Baze is the likely candidate to be traded.

Another thing to consider is would we want Love if it meant we can't afford Whiteside next summer? I realize we would hold his rights, but would he take Nurk money to stay? Or would he want more? If we think we would lose him over the summer then you might as well do a straight swap......but after Nurk gets back.

I think that’s one thing no one really talks about. What if Whiteside just stays? Portland will have some money and he isn’t for everyone. Of course it would mean taking a backseat to Nurk, but if he really enjoys his time here and no one else pays up, why not?

<facepalm>
The sad part about this bump is that the "Cavs Nation" post is nothing more than a restatement of the CBSSports column referenced in the BlazersEdge post BGD linked to just 15 posts earlier in this same thread.

I hate that this is what passes as journalism today.

what is clear is that any team that goes for Love should carefully manage his minutes AKA load management. He played 22 games last year??? He needs to sit out a lot of easy games like Kawhi and Lebron will.

No game is easy for the Cavs.

the cavs should deal him, if he gets hurt again then what?? goods damaged beyond repair?

They cant deal him, they gave him that huge contract that did not make sense now they are stuck with him he would have been gone already if the rest of the league thought he was viable. We have Pau Gasol on a much more friendlier contract. His BBIQ is waaaaay better then Loves and will help us more then Love ever will at this stage of the game.

He's as effective as an older David Lee. Could have value if he was paid the MLE and came off the bench.
