It's funny. Being that the Blazers are considered a championship contender. Hardly anyone wants Love in Portland but if he gets traded to a team like Houston or Utah people are pissed!

we also have Hood to consider for a new contract next season as he will likely opt out and let's say he will get around 10 mil. That would be around a $122mil starting lineup that would balloon to around $130 mil the following year. We would be at salary cap hell for the next several years with very little flexibility to do anything.

So maybe you missed where I said, if Jody is ok with it, then I also won't worry about the money? I understand the shitty contract. And what we'd need or want to do next year. I imagine if I do, and you do, that she and her people sure as shit do. So, if presented with all that, she says ok, then ok. Depending on trade package, of course.

I'm not saying it can't or won't for sure not happen, but i would put it in the very unlikely category.

I assume you would be for it. In my opinion it would be bad for the team

Over Whiteside?

I guess I'll use the same question as Love/Anthony, what does Thompson give us Whiteside doesn't? And, if not, what does he give us as a backup that Skal doesn't?

Over Bazemore.
They have matching salaries and Thompson was even projected to be a buyout guy this year since his contract is expiring and he'll probably want to go to a better team after this year.

Has he actually indicated that? Because that sounds like "click bait" by someone who is an idiot.

at the risk of soliciting BGD to start beating that dead horse again, this is an interesting passage in the link.

"
“If the Blazers try to hold this season together, they could build a package for Love around Hassan Whiteside and a first-round pick,” Sean Deveney of Heavy.com wrote. “Should the market for Love prove competitive and the Blazers persist in making this season a winner, the team could be forced to add a promising youngster like [Zach] Collins, Anfernee Simons or Nassir Little.”

"

Sorry, but I ain't trading any of those 3. They're cheap contracts and young. And Love ain't worth trading away potential

I’m all in on Love if it’s Whiteside/Bazemore/pick type deal. But not with the young guys.

this is not a "report"....it's nothing more than conjecture by Sean Devaney, and kind of lazy, half-assed conjecture as well

If Olshey gives up Whiteside, a 1st, and Nassir Little for Love he's a gawddam idiot. Love is 31, has a terrible injury history, and an albatross contract

I think Olshey has only overpaid in a trade once (the trade with Denver for AA). I don't think he'll go back to that.

I have left this thread alone. Because it's pretty much all been idle speculation until now.
Right now this move could indeed help. It also could produce wins.
People here want the team to win right? Kevin Love is a great player. The Blazers could use that right about now.

Not saying it would ever happen but if NO was EVER to trade CJ... sending him home would be the best move for CJ.

I would want Dylan Windler or Kevin Porter jr back at the least.

None of this is happening.

So who is happy coming off the bench Love or Melo? I am going to say neither. I would rather see them trade for a upgrade at Sf and role with melo this season.
