Wiz, great points.
However, in all fairness to CJ - he did have 1 game where he really did make the other team pay for this approach (Game 7 in Denver).... but again he hasn't shown the ability to do that consistently.

yep...CJ had a great game 7 in that series, and Portland likely doesn't win that game without CJ

But I'm not sure I've ever seen people lean so hard on one game as CJ fans have leaned on that one. It's like the first 6 games didn't matter.Blazers wouldn't have made it to a game 7 without Hood, Dame, and Kanter

When you continually misrepresent what people say and post and continually cherry pick information and ignore what doesn't fit your narrative then I see no value in reading any more of your crap. I bet without going back you can't even remember what I even originally posted to you. Good bye!

if only your goodbyes were sincere, I've done my good work for the day.

I have yet to see a package from Portland that would interest Cleveland. I mean skal tolliver and baze?? From their perspective that is garbage for a 5 time all star. Why would Cleveland want that? It would have to include value. Cj or Hassan plus Ant plus a pick. They aren't complete morons. if Portland wants him they will have to pay.

Exactly why it will not happen.
Portland can't afford to give 'real assets' in a trade for Love (due to all the risks involved).
Cleveland can't afford to give him up for nothing (due to his '5-time all-star' status). My guess is Love stays in Cleveland for quite a while.

I think Cleveland is more motivated to not pay him 90 million while he regresses, than people are giving them credit for.

Baze’s contract is value cuz it comes off the book for them in summer. Baze plus pick plus Trent or Little.

But any number of teams could provide them with equally "interesting" contracts. Every team has someone on a bad deal. So what is going to make them bite? Trent and Little?? No way. Would Neil trade CJ for Evan Tuner, a pick, Charlie Brown Jr. and Damian Jones?? He would have his drink coming out his nose if they offered him that for CJ.

Well, for starters, Kevin has to agree to go to a team. Also, if CJ was wanting out, and he limited his choices to only a few, it limits what they can take back. And if the team is interested in cap relief (even if it won't lead them to signing free agents), they might be equally interested in expiring contracts as they are young prospects.

Thing is, it's doubtful that CJ would be traded for prospects, but would probably get an equally bad contract that would hamper things in the long run.

I kind of think Love ends up in Dallas in a deal including Tim Hardaway Jr, maybe some like Powell(?), and a pick. Its way better than what the Blazers would give up and seems like something Dallas would do to try add another white guy... wait a minute, add another 3 point shooter and someone with experience around Luka and Kristaps.

what? he has some kind of a no-trade clause?

he doesn't have one, but whats the point of trading for a player who refuses to play for you?

It will be Baze, Labissière, Little and a first for Love.

Yeah, that's not gonna happen. And no, not because WE cAnT lEt GO oF tHoSe PLAyers!2!

But it decimates the bench.

I wasn't aware that Love was refusing to play for anybody...I mean, he's been OK with playing for Cleveland until making a little noise just recently

but hey, if the Blazers can find justification for not trading for Love, I'm fine with it

Dallas can't legally trade a 1st round pick until after the 2021 draft. They aren't trading Luka or Porzingis so they pretty much have nothing to trade for a guy like Love.

So why can't they trade a future 1st? Powell's a better player than anything the Blazers sound like their willing to give up and on a decent contract. Hardaway Jr., is just cap flexibility at the end of the year like Baze or WS would be. I think their package would be more interesting then what the Blazers are "rumored" to be offering, and I think there is a much bigger chance that Dallas would pull the plug on something like that.
It's not like 2022 is that far off.

They owe 2 future 1sts to NY for Porzingis and the protections of the 2nd one run to the end of the 7 draft window you can trade. Hardaway still has another year on his contract so no he isn't like Baze or Whiteside. Powell is decent but not good enough to be the main piece in the trade.

I thought Hardaway Jr's contract was up this year, but you're right. It doesn't sound like all they want is cap flexibility though, so maybe their willing to have an extra year of Hardaway jr. I dunno, I just think Dallas is among a group of teams who may think they have a shot at a title this year with Love and would try to pool assets to get it done. There's also 2nd round picks, which aren't a bad thing in Clevelands situation of just trying to find someone who has a pulse.

Maybe not Dallas, but there are multiple teams that could put together a better package for Love than Here's some bad filler players, a protected 1st and cap space. Unless the Blazers are actually willing to part with Simons / Little / or Zach which seems unlikely.

Hardaway has zero value in a trade this year (even though he's having a decent year compared to his career numbers). I get your overall point but so many people are going crazy over Dallas and I get it when you have Doncic, but they're going to have a tough time building around him or making trades like that.

Here's one from just screwing around, Miami gives up Winslow and Johnson and a pick, Gets Love in return.

I'm not sure what you mean by going crazy over Dallas, are they in a lot of the trade rumors, or just crazy over how good they've started?

If Cleveland really just wants cap relief would they do Paul Milsap for Love straight up? (I think that works).

With how good they are and will be.

I hate to bring this up again, but Miami can't trade a 1st this year either, lol. Winslow might be a decent pickup for Cleveland but Johnson has another year on his deal after this one too.

The thing is I know that they cant do this years pick, but it doesnt mean they cant trade a pick, this isnt the only year they plan to do a draft.
Right the idea was both of the Miami forwards are decent so Cleveland might see that as two decent forwards they can have around for a while. Its hard to know what Clevelands looking for.

My main point is if Clevelands looking to get cap space Portland might be in the running but their are other teams who could do that, and if their looking to fill some roster holes and and build future depth theirs better options. I dont think Portland should be holding our collective breaths for Love to come here.

When I say they can't trade a 1st, they can't trade one in any year not just this year. James Johnsom sucks by the way and no one wants that contract.

I'd love Justise Winslow over Love too. Maybe we can get in on a three way
