OT Kyrie Irving is certain that he is not an anti-semite; many others disagree

So you've seen the documentary to assert it is racist? I haven't seen it, but I would bet the antisemitism spoken of is pretty subtle and not the main point of the film. Isn't the film about African culture of some sorts? So the ideas of antisemitism probably flew right over Kyrie's head since it's not the main point of the film. Again, I haven't seen it. You probably haven't either.

I'm surprised we're not calling the movie Black Adam antisemitic at this point.
You are absolutely wrong on this. People that have seen this film say it’s absolutely antisemitic. Jewish people that have seen this film are thoroughly offended and repulsed. The fact that you admitted that you haven’t seen it yet you dismiss the antisemitism boggles my mind. I mean when the film quotes Adolf Hitler, you know it’s bad.

I'm battling for a future where we don't throw around the term antisemitic lightly on every person who disagrees with something. Some say it is antisemitic to say Israel is an apartheid state.

Not sure why you so badly want to call everyone you see antisemitic.
I’ve never called anybody that.
I find it interesting that THIS is a fight you are undertaking. Reminds me ALOT of the hillbilly in the OT sections who for the past 10 years posts racist Trump bullsshit all over this forum and then is completely blown away and shocked how people react.
Why support this clown?

Re-read what I said. I said the antisemitism in the film might have been subtle enough to fly right over Kyrie's head. If it is blatant, then there really isn't any excuse and Kyrie SHOULD be disciplined.

The movie is very antisemitic. It literally quotes The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

This feigned ignorance is the kind of enabling that allowed the Nazis to do what they did. You are on the wrong side of history here bud.

so at this point you’re just posting to post without saying anything

I'm not supporting this clown, and Kyrie IS a clown. I'm saying, let's not throw that term around so easily. If the film is overt, then by all means Kyrie should be disciplined.

I just saw a clip and IT IS ANTISEMITIC. I thought it was more subtle since I was told it was about African culture. I stand corrected.

If you don't want a conversation, don't respond. Should probably get off a message board if that's the case.

Says the guy who supposedly blocked me for "projecting much" after I responded with examples of him projecting on others.

All for the best though.

Solid movie recommendation. Draw your own conclusions...

promote holocaust denial as well? And comes out in his presser and says history can't hide.

I dunno, a movie saying one of the falsehoods the Jews are pushing is how many died in the holocaust comes across as a wee bit anti-semitic to me. But hey, you do you!

Message board? Have you seen it since you're calling me out for not watching it?
I haven’t watched the whole thing, but I don’t need to watch the whole thing to be informed on this topic.

I certainly wouldn’t come into a thread claiming to fight for a future of people not being mislabeled without doing any research.

I always said if it was overt then he should be disciplined. And being on a message board and learning from others is research.

This wasn't a historical film with interesting information that someone was saying take a look at. It is shit. Actually, shit is a necessary function, if unpleasant, so it's slandering shit to compare it to this drivel. It is not over reacting to say it is anti Semitic. And it's not subtle.

Yes, Americans have the right to free speech. Kyrie Irving should not go to jail for what he says. But free speech does not mean free from criticism. Or free from being a pariah. Or free from consequences.

Anyone who has a job knows there are some things you can't say at work if you want to keep the job.

it's not even just "tacit endorsement" like some people are claiming. His reaction to getting called out on it is downright damning. if this was not a 20 pt scorer, he would be out of the league.
He's a FA after the year. It will be interesting to see how much this All Star talent has torpedoed his career.

I would say directly quoting Adolf Hitler is pretty blatant to start with…
That's the most ridiculous part, it's a made up quote from Hitler supposedly on his death bed... when he blew his brains out?

I find the players to be so hypocritical in this Kyrie situation. When the bigot is an owner, law enforcement or politician, they have no issues taking to their platforms to denounce the act. But when the bigot is one of their own…crickets. I haven’t seen LeBron James tweet about it. I haven’t seen Steph Curry tweet about it. The NBPA statement couldn’t even state his name. Hate and racism is hate and racism. You can’t pick and choose when you want to use your voice. The silence is deafening.

Anyone remember if LBJ or any other players jumped down Meyers Leonard’s throat when he did his little racist meltdown?

The 1st amendment is largely about keeping the government from making laws limiting an individual's speech. So Kyrie is free to continue being an asshat, but the marketplace is also free to react in disgust.

did more than that in the PC following his last game this weekend. warning, you will lose brain cells after watching this bullshit.

I know it's dumb to read Youtube comments, but the sheer amount of people in them defending him is rather surprising and should make you lose more hope in humanity

Republicans use YouTube too unfortunately.

Does Kyrie know that he would be one of the first to lose all his privilege if the kinds of people who made this film were in power? Is he too stupid to not realize this?
