I’m speaking at a 10th grade reading level. If you think this is “sounding smart” you may have spent too much time on basketball while you were in college.
I don't know one person who uses the word "babbling nonsense" or "factoids" seriously. Corny would've been a better word, you're right.

It’s more just you and your usual 3-4 forum bros

and it’s more uniting against statistical literacy than anything. Enjoy babbling nonsensically about factoids you don’t grasp the context of. That podcast will take off any day now.
Are you blind?! I've seen like 20 people clown you or call you out for your bullshit. And it's not my "bros", it's actually from some people I rarely agree with. But I see we all agree on something....

“babbling” and “nonsense” are actually two different words. I’ve heard them used in Harry Potter. Very advanced reading. Maybe if you ask now your college might give you a receipt.

I’ll take things that never happened for $1000, Alex

When you finally finish 10th grade (and have gotten all the way through the Harry Potter series) how ‘bout rejoining the forum is hopes you can handle a well reasoned discussion buttressed by facts? We might even take you seriously then.....

You’re right. I give up. You destroyed me with facts and logic like “Lillard has HALF AN ASSIST more this year”.

Here are his stats per 100 possessions.

http://bkref.com/pi/shareit/75yjT

His assists go slightly up or down each year. This year the variation is only .3, less than usual, no big deal. Since his bad 5th year he has climbed back to where he was in his 4th year.

While the assist change isn't notable, something else is: His 2FGA are way down, but his 2FG% is up.

"Phrases", just so that your OCD is calmed since semantics seem like a big deal to you.

Now quit making things personal and talking shit about my college education.

Its hard to watch Lillard play this season. He does not seem motivated. He is not playing with passion, interest, or energy. He is playing like a celebrity that is happy to cash a giant check and pal around with Von Miller after his team gets humiliated.

He doesn’t seem upset when he loses, at all. I’ve seen Kobe Bryant more upset in training camp scrimmages than I’ve seen Lillard all season after his team has been getting beat down repeatedly.

watch how he opened the game against Denver. He’s literally walking the ball up the court and going through plays like it’s a scrimmage. His defense has been half-assed all year too.

he always scores a decent amount, and this keeps him out of the line of fire, but I think he is the biggest reason our team has struggled this season. Everyone on the team has made mistakes, but nobody is lacking energy like Lillard. He needs to get called out so he starts playing with a chip on his shoulder.

How many times have you been booted from this forum? Your ability to get under people's skin suggests you've had years of practice.

Thread update: BonesJones is ignoring me after being proven wrong about Lillard by the first quarter. Lol

Yeah right up to him icing the game in the last minute. Who else you want on the line in that position?
Yeah just ignore the other 47 min of the game where his energy was total shit.

did I ever say he’s not talented? No. I said he is dogging it. He clearly is, and if you didn’t notice it after that game you’re truly blind.

Yeah sure.

Honestly if the opinion wasnt laced with so much hyperbole I would be more apt to have this conversation... Dame is kind of doing what he’s usually done. He’s never been a great defender, he’s always taken plays “off” to let CJ or Nurk, or someone else do to the work. Im not sure I can think of a single star that doesnt.

You want to tell me that there are times Dame should play harder ok, of course Id buy that. There are times this year he has looked frustrated more so than in the past, I can accept that too.

Its the making it out like he’s Raymond Felton out their googling voodoo doughnut delivery rather than playing basketball that I disagree with. Dames not perfect or above criticism heck people criticize Lebron, and MJ and Kareem, but the hyperbole is the issue.

dude dame is playing with less energy than Felton. It’s not even close. If you’d actually watch him instead of just reflexively defending him like he’s your boyfriend you could easily see this. He barely moved all game. He was playing 75% at best. His effort was shameful.

dames not above criticism? Lol errr yeah, he is. See this forum and people losing their shit every single time I criticize him.

This should be an easy win, but with blazer fans lacking any semblance of energy at home, and Dame looking like he had his energy zapped by the Monstars - we could very well lose this game.

Look for Dame standing around 100% of the time when he doesn’t have the ball, not playing any help defense whatsoever, and going through the motions on defense. He is either hurt or he has given up on this team. I haven’t seen a player dogging it like this in years. His effort in the last two games against the nuggets and suns has been atrocious.

Something is clearly wrong with Lillard. He has been dogging it hard over the last 2-3 games. He rarely runs. His defense is appalling. His off the ball game is non-existent.

go back and look at his body language in the Suns game. He is totally dead. When he’s on the bench he’s not clapping or into the game. A few times they zoomed in on his face on the bench and it almost looked like he was going to cry - or like someone he knows died recently or something.

What’s wrong with Lillard? Is it injuries? Is he still having back problems? Is there something personal that happened to him recently? Is he just dogging it to save energy for later in the season?

Most importantly: why is nobody even pointing this out or worried?

He was incredible against the Suns. We wouldn't have won without him. He's 12 in the NBA in PER.

Incredible? Dude he had like 3 points in the first half, he had some of the worst energy I’ve ever seen an NBA player play with, and he was pouting and practically looked like he was going to cry on the bench multiple times. You are not living in reality.

it’s true he went on to score a decent amount. That doesn’t change any of the above. Finishing 9-22 from the field and having one clutch shot is not nearly enough to make up for a first half that embarrassing. We should have never been have been close to losing agains the SUNS

the low expectations for a player were giving 200 million here are astonishing. If I were the coach I would bench him until he commits to running while he’s on the floor. You can’t have a decent basketball team when your star thinks they are above running.
