Dame shouldn’t have vented publicly. Now half the fan base is ready to move on. It’s Scoot’s team going forward whether he likes it or not. Only a matter of time before he is traded… might as well do it now to maximize opportunity for both parties.

Lol

It's Dame's team as long as he is here. Scoot may be heir apparent if he turns out to be that good, but the heir doesn't touch the throne till the King is gone.

If Dame does get traded, you can start the timer on Sharpe and Scoot's tenure in Portland. It's will only be a matter of time , if they are great, before they want out too.

If....Dame does move on, as Blazer fans, we all hope the next iteration somehow is able to eventually take a step up and be more competitive. It's been over 20 years since we have been a legit contender.

Cronin has been in contact with Dame's agent every single day. What do you suppose they talked about? They kept Dame updated on every single trade idea and proposal that came their way. Cronin isn't going to meet with Dame and his agent and bullshit them.

So not since before Dame… yet people want to mortgage the future to keep trying in his mid 30’s

I'm sure he's planted some seeds with Dame's agent who I believe is also Chauncey's agent. Natural place to start doing trades is with a good agent.

Of course.

Biting him in the ass? That would mean Dame being traded against his wishes.
Is that what's happening?
Drafting a player at his position, and saying he couldn't get a deal done. Makes him really want to stay. I hope he does. He's Awesome. I hope Joe does go get free agents to help. But If he ask out, it's because Joe didn't do him any favors here.

See, and I know I might be in the minority on this?, but I would prefer Dame to go in the next few weeks rather than at the trade deadline. I just think it would hurt more to see him in that red and black for a large part of the season, and then hey ho off he goes.

Maybe I am just being a bit dramatic, but just how I feel.

But that's just it. I don't think it's a forgone conclusion that he would be gone at the deadline. Wait and see mode. Let's do what we can and go from there. No decision other than to stay the course. For now.

The funny thing about that is there is this thing that players don't want to come here, but they get here and then love it.
Rayan Rupert wants to come here. When he was told the Blazers wanted him before the draft he said "get it done."
Scoot Henderson wants to come here.
I'm sure Amen Thompson wanted to come here.
Batum and Hart said it's a great organization.

Not mortgaging anything. It's going to take years to rebuild anyway. If...Dame goes eventually it's already started.

Talking about stars. There is something about stars not wanting to come here in FA. They are creating super teams elsewhere, but none wanted to come join Dame, despite saying they wanted to play with him.

I accidentally hit post earlier. What I meant to say is that it's a perfectly normal meeting with the team's franchise player to plan strategy, discuss players and proposals, and get Dame's input. Certainly that could result in a mutual decision to shop Dame. But to presume as some want to do that the purpose of the meeting is for Dame to give ultimatums or ask out strikes me as not based in real life.

They don't want to live in Portland is the bigger issue. Not dame lol.

Not blaming Dame. Yeah, other stars don't want to live here, but when other players come they end up liking it here.

Dame built a paradise here. Brought his family here. But some are doing everything in their power to evict him. Truly Pathetic.

"Our direction for the franchise? You show up, play good basketball, listen to Chauncey, and cash your checks."

I'm glad Cronin has so much patience to hold the hand of the guy because, man, the dude gets a lot of TLC for having won 22 career playoff games and being owed like a quarter of a billion bucks.

I don't know, I think the Scoot hype is a far worse phenomenon. People like you are excited to throw away a player like Dame because you are mesmerized by a short guy with big hands who has never done shit.

Agreed. I don't understand why some are so quick to celebrate him leaving, before he is even gone. It's terrible.

Maybe they are trying to get things done right now? Nobody knows really what’s happening but I doubt both parties would want things to just linger. Dame doesn’t seem like the type to want to draw attention to himself.

I think I saw a tweet that they were talking about #Scandalvol. They're both big Bravo fans.

The dumbest are usually the loudest and they just say it over and over. I wouldn't care too much what a few idiots on a message board have to say. Probably just pretending to be Blazer fans because they have nothing better to do.

Yeah, I don't see it. I hope if Scoot isn't traded that he becomes something here. I'm not going to not root for a Blazer player, there is just a lot of hype for someone who hasn't played yet. It's especially strange that the hype for him comes for several here at the expense of our franchise player.

Loyal to the soil. Likely won't see it again, and for sure in Portland. I'm hoping Joe isn't a snake oil salesman, and was being truthful about building around Dame. But it ain't looking good.

And to think, Dame shut it down, having his BEST season ,so the Blazers could put themselves in a position to draft high ,and have assets, and they might end up biting him in the ass. It's disgusting , and dirty if it ends this way.
They shut it down to have an asset to build a win-now team around Dame as Cronin made it sound like during the exit interview. Dame was confident in interviews the past couple months that the Blazers would pull something off. Then they draft his replacement.

I don't know how much I believe this so take it with a grain of salt or twenty, but it's possible that the Blazers front office believes Scoot is a better option for the team to build now and for the future than guys like Jaylen Brown. It seems truly possible that Portland never seriously pitched the 3rd pick for what was available and instead went after guys that weren't (Bam & Zion) so it could appear that they tried for Dame, solely because they think Scoot is THAT good. Not only does that feel over-optimistic, but it doesn't make sense for Dame and doesn't do right by him, and goes against everything Joe, Chauncey, and Dame said they wanted in their exit interviews (less youth, more veterans, and more size). The fact that his career here could end without Portland ever taking a swing because they found a shiny new PG feels so wrong to me. Dame leaving would be the front offices doing because this would push even the most loyal stars to their limits.

Get real. Maybe your homies believe that crap, but i work with the public, and no one is happy about the prospect of Dame leaving. He's loved here. He didn't start this. He wants legitiment help.

I don’t know what to say because I want to keep my response short.

Agreed. I've grown weary of hearing his constant waffling. Pick a lane. I don't think he realizes how much he's shitting on his Portland fans these past few summers.

Such bullshit. They literally just picked his replacement after shutting him down in order to tank. The Blazers could've drafted a player with more potential for team basketball(Amen) and not his replacement, but they wanted to appease the "bad basketball", "clout-chasing", "shiny things", "shitlib", "redditor" crowd.

Maybe they could repeat another season with Eubanks as a vital cog in shit basketball to show him how they really care. Fuck Cronin and fuck shit fans.
