I am reserving my spot for my Meltdown if Cronin does jack BEEP like some think but hell maybe he will surprise me . Even a broken clock is right twice a day it could happen -- tick tock

Jack fuck?

Jack squat?

Jack didilly?

Based on what has exchanged hands so far, I hope Brogdon and Grant are not traded. I feel like the returns would have people melting down even more.
I think it's unlikely at this point. All the 'potential' target teams for Brogdon have made their moves already.

Knicks, 76ers, Twolves

I guess Pels are still out there, but that always felt like a long shot to me

There is no young talent available. Let’s see what the Heat do. Jovic? He probably is a rotation player and poor on defense but he is long

As long as they maximize the minutes for the young guys, I don’t care

but that won’t happen

great developmental process cronut

Don't think there's even a 24 1st available for Brogdon. Definitely not for Matisse. So I think it's pretty clear we're standing pat.

The thing about it is Buddy Hield got a return that I wouldn't be happy with for Malcolm but he's also not as versatile and only a one way player. I don't know at this point what team would want a big versatile two way PG like Malcolm but if they did want him I think they'd make that offer that's a tic up from what the Pacers got for Buddy. All I would need would be that tic up to a FRP that the Pacers didn't get.

As far as Grant goes reportedly the Kings are very interested, Dallas is still in play and with the Gifford move they look like they want to take a big step up and Jerami might be able to do that for them.

The fact is that both Malcolm and Jerami are on very reasonable deals that are not expiring so I legitimately feel like the offers for Malcolm would be higher than the offers for Buddy and Jerami has to be seen as doubly as valuable as Malcolm. We'll see over the next few hours. This is not a meltdown in and of itself but the continuation of the prelude to my actual meltdown scheduled for later today and that prelude has been burning for a couple weeks.

why would Portland want a 3rd first round pick this year?
What’s the alternative? We keep Brogdon and sign him to an extension?

If we can’t even get a first for him, and value doesn’t improve this summer, the Dame haul is gonna look pretty mediocre in retrospect. Being able to flip Brogdon and maybe Williams for useful assets was a big part of what made that trade solid. The picks are still decent but it’s gonna look silly if we keep Brogdon. Unless we trade Simons this summer.

We still have a full year to trade Brogdon.... There is still time.

but yes, in 18-months from now - you resign Brogdon to an extension if you can't find a trade.

Why would we have to sign Brogdan to an extension? He has a year left on his contract after this year. Trade him over the summer, next deadline? Just curious why you think he won't have any value as a expiring next year?

I was thinking 2025-2027 first's instead of 2024. Apparently the thinking is that none are available. I don't believe that; I think it's just an excuse for inertia

I think the trade was a weak trade for Portland and a poor return for Dame. I may have thought better of it at the time than I do now but looking at the entire off-season and seeing the direction Portland is heading, or rather lack of direction, the return for trading Dame + Nurkic (and re-signing Grant) is making no sense at all to me. At least it makes no basketball-reasons sense...it probably makes a lot of Vulcan cash-flow sense

friendly reminder that we traded the best Player in franchise history to make Scoot the new PG of the future only to bench him for Malcolm Brogdon.
Even Scoot has said he thinks coming off the bench has helped him study the NBA game and as long as he plays decent minutes he will improve. Its not a bad thing allow any rookie some coming off the bench time. just my opinion.

Brogdon has helped Scoot develop just as Dame assisted others rookies. Sure, trade him if we get a legit reasonable return, but dont give him away in a fire sale.

Keeping Dame and putting talent around him would have been better. No doubt.

But he demanded out. Kinda had to do it.

No. We traded the best player in franchise history because he demanded out. If we had kept him Scoot would be developing off the bench and probably not playing right now.

I think any first is a good return for Brogdon. But there is no reason to trade him if we aren't getting a first.

I'm thinking we trade RWIII for a couple of 2025 seconds. What's your meltdown level if that's all we do?
