Maybe, but what we most definitely don't need.......is worse ownership. And that is a huge possibility. All the new owners these days have 2 billion or more.
You need an owner who is not in it for the money because those owners will sell to make a profit....to anyone, anywhere. Let me know when we have the list put together of multi-billionaires who are big Portland fans that under no circumstance will move the team, or even worry about the luxury tax. We have had one of the highest payrolls for years until now. Yes we could use better management, but we could also of have had much worse ownership.
That's true, but if we have too much salary on the books the team isn't as valuable. It just makes sense that that will be one of the criteria moving forward. And it's another reason we aren't going to get a proven GM until the team is sold.

No proven GM or up and comer will be interested in being in that position. And getting fired in 2yrs.

I kind of think you underestimate the level of most of these guys' competitive nature and confidence in themselves. So many of them believe that if given the chance they would knock things out of the park by such a margin that they would survive a change in ownership. Also if they can get more money than they'd be making the next two years and build some faith in them around the league it would be better than sitting around or a TV gig... if their desire is to still be in charge of an NBA roster.

Could be. But I think we've got that guy in Cronin. Anybody more proven is in a better situation than Cronin. At least, I can't think of anybody else in a less precarious situation who might be better...

There have been a couple who are not happy but I have not seen total meltdown as of yet?
Now if they tell us he got injured in summer league we might have a problem?

TRADING THE 46TH PICK WTF!!!!!!!!!!!

TRADING THE 46TH PICK WTF!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish someone in the presser had asked him what the thinking was there? Did they feel like only had room for one developmental guy and were pretty sure they could get Walker later? Are they opposed to stashing guys?

So i read up on the Grade the off season thread and all the trade threads.
There is plenty of Meltdown going on.

This Is The Place For That!

I'm feeling positive about the moves & direction. I guess i'm melting down.

no meltdown, just continued disappointment with how this team plays, bottom line they are not fun to watch and realistically on a treadmill, that combo will make me start to not watch games until real changes are made

how do you think the playstyle compares to the stotts era?

Too soon to say in my opinion. I want to give Chauncey more time. Don't really feel it's fair to hold him to a standard that Stotts was at his first head coaching job unless you actually speak about his first 137 games Stotts was in Atlanta then that might make some sense.
