He's not what the team needs, unless he grew 9 inches and the ability to play defense.
And keep us right where we are, or maybe increase our win total by about 5. Any trade we make should NOT be about improving our standing this season - it should be about improving our future. Making a trade to sneak into the #8 spot would be the worst thing we could do.

He will prolly retire at this point anyway, he talked about last year being his last year, but after winning a ring he came back but was relegated to 3rd string after the cavs drafted a pg and his surgery.

Latest that I've heard is that Cho is headed to TOR for a little. Not Blazer related, but from the rumblings I'm getting CHA is looking to be very active.

Interesting stuff about the Pellies, who we are now in the same boat with.

When a team lands upon a style -- an identity -- you can describe it in one sentence. The Pelicans are still a stream-of-consciousness novel, and they can't just blame injuries. Some pieces proved tricky fits, and there remains disagreement among coaches and executives over fundamental questions

Sidenote:
In the days that followed, Atlanta and New Orleans had exploratory talks about possible Howard trades before the Hawks pulled everyone off the market, according to several league sources. It is unclear how interested New Orleans was, and there was not unanimous support within the team for acquiring Howard.

Gotta keep an eye on this if Howard becomes available again.

I really liked mo when he was here
I really hated Mo when he was here. I couldn't wait for him to get the boot and open up minutes for CJ.

Now that we suck, I could see bringing him back to displace Napier.

Wasn't there a rumor a while back that Howard could be had for a second rounder?

I thought he was pretty good for us. Especially this shot.

Mo is physically damaged. He was going to retire this summer but wanted to get his last year of his deal paid so he figured he would ride the inactive list all year.

I wonder if they make MKG available. Man, Kemba is criminally underpaid. Sucks for him that he didn't get an option in his contract to get out to the market in this new cap.

Ironically, at the time he signed the extension, he was considered overpaid. He signed a 4-year extension, with no annual increases, after a down year, then he exploded and so did the salary cap.

Oh well, when his contract expires he will have made almost $60 million and will only be 28. If he keeps playing like he has been, he'll still be young enough for a big payday.

Seriously?
I get the premise. I would rather root for a bad Blazers team than a good one with Harden. But I think Harden is the only player I feel that way about. There are other players I hate, but Harden is the only one I hate enough to not even want on the team. Even if he brought us a championship, it would be tainted.

I don't get that level of hate for Howard, though.

Because I would rather watch a bad Blazers team than a better one with Howard on it.

Seriously?

What does a breaking down, aging Dwight Howard do for us? Maybe he gives us a chance to really lock up that 8th seed, and then what? He doesn't make this team a title contender. He doesn't make us much better for long. You're not going to be able to get him for nothing (probably picks and a player). Look at this potential trade from 2 or 3 years down the road, instead of just the next 2 or 3 months.

I hate James harden as well, but I have no problem admitting he is an elite player, that makes any team better. I just wish he wouldn't be such a bitch flopper, because he would be good regardless.

At this point it seems we need to find another team that is as messed up and desperate as us to trade with. I would suggest Orlando is one: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orlando-magic/os-sp-magic-pelicans-0119-story.html

Another one might be Sacramento, but if they aren't interested in trading Cousins, I don't know if they have much for us.

I know they say you should never make a trade just to make a trade, but at this point it seems some kind of shakeup might help. At least it might help my mood. :)

New Orleans is getting close.

Brandon Night Shyamalan.

This is quite the twist.
