Any chance of this type of deal near the deadline?

PELICANS GET:
F Rudy Gay
C Mason Plumlee

KINGS GET:
G/F Allen Crabbe
F Noah Vonleh
G Langston Galloway
2017 POR 1st
2018 CLE 1st
2018 Right to Swap any 1st with NOP
2019 POR 1st

BLAZERS GET:
C Demarcus Cousins
G Jrue Holiday

Who says yes? Who's iffy? Who hangs up the phone?

Dame / Holiday / 'Bazz / TQ
CJ / Holiday / Pat
Moe / Turner / Layman
Aminu / Davis / Cousins
Cousins / Ezeli / Leonard

I think the Pels would be iffy on that.

Pelicans should give up Holiday for not much. Gone in the Summer anyway and they will probably be about 8-40 when next year comes and they have to make decisions.

Kings will let Cousins go for the right price and will let Gay move for not much because he is gone in the Summer. If we want to make him a short stop signing at small forward, then pretty much any of our assets will do. Cousins will be problematic, Crabbe will absolutely have to be included and from watching them yesterday, they could really use him. Evan Turner is someone they would decline to take IMO but could be traded to Brooklyn who could use him. The likes of Aminu, Leonard, Plumlee are players Kings could probably fancy. Picks will be important for them too because they will be looking for potential. The problem with letting Cousins go is that they lose a lot by letting him go but have no chance to get a star back. Getting Brooklyn's pick from Boston would be their best option as next draft looks good in terms of talent but I very much doubt Boston will give them that.

With Turner though, the way he has been playing and $75M investment considered, we could probably trade him AND a first round pick for a second round pick to someone who would be willing to take on his contract. He has been this bad.

I haven't browsed this thread but John Henson screams like an olshey move to me.

Cowherd show reporting that Brian Scalabrine is suggesting a potential trade of Bradley/Crowder/2017 Nets pick for Klay Thompson. Don't know how legit, but makes a lot of sense for both sides.

That makes the Warriors better. No thank you.

Would be a bad move for Boston.

Hmm..... the Celts clearly get the best player in the deal, but the Warriors get a lot of depth and potentially a really good pick. Long term, that could be a really good trade for both teams.

Eh, I disagree. They would have a clear third star to go with Thomas and Horford. They lost last year because Thomas couldn't carry the team by himself. Adding Klay would take care of that. Bradley and Crowder are really solid players, but they're not stars. The pick from Brooklyn is valuable, but unless they get a surefire stud like an Anthony Davis or a LeBron or a Durant, I don't see it helping their short term goals.

How does that make sense for BOS? That's way too much to give up for Klay, IMO. I'd rather have Bradley, honestly. And then they're suppose to include Crowder and the Nets pick? The only thing Klay has is size, and, at least in theory, better 3-point shooting.

No way would I take Avery Bradly over Klay Thompson.

Orlando is now benching Aaron Gordon and giving Mario Herzonja DNPs.

Something needs to give.

They need to trade Vucevic in the worst way. Maybe AC + Aminu + Noah for Herzonja and Vucevic? Neil has taken Hennigan to the cleaners the last two summers with his Harkless and Napier trades. Perhaps they'd be wary.

Not just better 3-point shooting, but better offense overall. Thomas/Thompson/Horford would be a sick 3-man combo.

Would you take Klay over Bradley, Crowder AND a potential lottery pick? That's just crazy, IMO.
Boston's looking to win now, not later. The lottery pick is currency to them.

Boston needs to do something to elevate themselves into actual contention. The roster as it's currently built will not contend. Horford isn't a scorer. Bradley isn't a scorer. They have depth at guard. Supposedly they wanted to trade for Jimmy Butler, essentially that same offer, and they couldn't make it happen. Thompson is only 26 years old, and could arguably be the best shooting guard in the league (if you count Harden as a point guard.)

Bradley is a role player. Crowder is a role player. The pick is an unknown variable, but their current rookie is a ways off from contributing, so who's to say that any other rookie would be different? Thompson is a star. Put him with Thomas and Horford and you have a really good trio.

Maybe as a trio, but I think Bradley has a more diverse offensive game than Klay. I also like Bradley's defense better than Klay's. Maybe I just haven't watched Bradley enough, but in the few games I have seen I've been impressed with him. Also, I hate Klay and his whiny face, so there's that.

Self-awareness is key. Well done.

Klay and throw ins/picks for Boogie would be scary. The numbers seem to work.

Klay is golden states best overall player, so yeah, I think this is BS.

I don't get the love for brook Lopez. He's older than our core and plays at a much slower pace. Rather just let Meyers develop if that's our only option.

Give me Noel, John Hansen, Nurkic instead.

Just another weapon. That's all it is. None of the three guys that you listed are scorers.
