At this point it seems we need to find another team that is as messed up and desperate as us to trade with. I would suggest Orlando is one: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orlando-magic/os-sp-magic-pelicans-0119-story.html

Another one might be Sacramento, but if they aren't interested in trading Cousins, I don't know if they have much for us.

I know they say you should never make a trade just to make a trade, but at this point it seems some kind of shakeup might help. At least it might help my mood. :)
I thought I just heard that Rudy Gay is out for the season? If we could sell them Aminu for a draft pick that would be ideal! Shit, how about Aminu/Meyers for Rudy Gay + draft pick?

I have no idea what NOP needs, but would trade pretty much any of our crap for Tyreke's expiring contract plus a pick! :)

Hard to take it seriously with the #ImAnAss hashtag.

Yeah, Quick was on RCM and mentioning that there were talks about trades for Len and Knight, and the tweeter just decided to take it next level.

The tweet did not match what Quick said at all other than the names that were mentioned. "Blazers trading for...." is a lot different than, "I've heard of some interest."

Knight would be a decent bench player, does Len play any defense? His stats aren't blowing me away.

that might be the only way we could get rid of Leonard's contract, take on a worse one in Knight's. Leonard and Ezeli for Len and Knight?

How about Knight's defense?
"Knight’s role in the Suns’ bottom-two defense is pretty clear. In addition to the turnovers, he’s not a stopper, he rarely blocks shots and he grabs only three defensive rebounds per 36 minutes.

For most of the season, the Suns have been about four points per 100 possessions better on defense with Knight sitting. While that number has improved of late (the Suns still rate as better without him playing), in large part that’s because of all the minutes Phoenix is giving to very young players like Devin Booker and Archie Goodwin."

More here about being one of the five most over-rated players in the league: http://arizonasports.com/story/5452...ht-one-of-five-most-overrated-players-in-nba/

^^^^ I wouldn't expect a ton of shot blocking and rebounding from a 6'3" guard.
Agreed, and even the team statistics are from last year I think. So I looked up his real plus minus defensive rating, Minus 3.39, not good. Even his ORPM is a minus 1.39.
His total RPM of -4.94 is the worst of an PG in the league and it's not really close.

Sounds like an Olshey guard.

BTW, TBpup, doesn't this trade idea kind of remind of some things you were hearing? Involves guys that there were no rumors about, kind of a lateral move, and the assumption of Knight's 5 year contract would be kind of a puzzle unless another move followed? (I mean if Olshey and Stotts actually think they can revive Knight's career, wouldn't that open up the possibility of trading CJ?)

One thing when Quick put something out it usually don't happen. If it is true I think the focus is on Len not Knight. Knight is a throw in because Phoenix trying to get rid of him.

Exactly!

I'd take a chance on knight and hope he'd turn into a Jamal Crawford type guy off the bench. Hes still only just 25. Len is a worthwhile project as well, or at least more worthwhile than Leonard. I wonder what Phoenix would want? If we're taking on Knights contract I would want them to take on Leonard

Both those players are shit and one is expensive, so please let this not be true.

Alex Len would immediately have the 4th highest PER on our team (unless Plumlee was traded, then he'd be third). He'd also immediately become our best rim protector, actually shoots decent from the FT line and he's only 23. But as you said Knight is expensive and Len will no doubt get an offer next year higher than what Meyers ended up getting.

Knights contract really isn't that bad, even as a bench player, as long as Stotts gets the best out of him.

Anyone that thinks the Blazers are willing to Trade C.J for Cousins are Crazy. The ONLY way the Blazers trade CJ is for a quality player that has high character (i.e not Cousins).

Criteria #1: CJ averages 23.4 PPG, So if he were to be traded, I assume Portland would most likely want someone in return that scores say 18+ PPG.

Criteria #2: The Blazers need defensive help on the Front line So I eliminated all point guards, shooting guards and small forwards from the list.

Criteria #3: Player must have a better defensive rating than Mason Plumlee

Criteria #4: Player must Average at least 1 block/game.

Criteria #5: Player is under 30 years old.

Only 4 players met those criteria and are listed below. If The Blazers can't get one of these players for CJ & possible fillers, then there is no point in trading him.

Anthony Davis
Joel Embiid
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Karl-Anthony Towns

Here is link for defensive rating data I used.
