Re: KP FIRED!

I hope to God that KP comes back to haunt this franchise for many years to come. F it I dont even care about winning. This organization doesnt deserve it.

Overdramatic much? It's not like we just traded away Brandon Roy or anything. Sheesh.

again I am not saying this from a KP is God standpoint... I am saying it because the lack of class this organization has shown.

You have NO IDEA why he was fired, at this point anyways....

Re: KP FIRED! (merged)

I know its not THAT relevant, but one of my fav NBA players

@ChrisMannixSI: Rasheed Wallace has retired

Re: KP FIRED! (merged)

For the Blazers Culture matters. Except when it comes to the owner.

Completely agree. PA doesn't deserve this fanbase.

This ownership has shown a lack of class throughout it's tenure.

Re: KP FIRED! (merged)

He didn't make the trade to save his job.

I think he was treated horribly, but I also think he kinda screwed himself with the rest of the league with that threatening letter about Darius Miles.

Give it a rest. Kevin Pritchard did not do anything to deserve anything other than a contract extension. He saved this franchise, where his predecessor couldn't see the difference between Sebastian Telfair, Deron Williams and Chris Paul. Don't suck up to Paul Allen and give him an excuse by trying to find a reason for KP to be fired.

Re: KP FIRED! (merged)

Doesn't matter. Allen and Larry Miller are fucks. Another in the long line of fuck ups by Tweedle Dee and Twiddle Dumb.

Imaginary cap space.

Re: KP FIRED!

it is pathetic to state we don't deserve to win.

I don't know how Wheels feels, but there's no "we" for me. I've never used "we" about the Blazers, because I don't consider myself a part of them and their actions aren't any reflection on me (which may be why I never was all that bothered by "character issues" of the players). I have an emotional investment in the team, and it annoys me that Paul Allen (in my view) is screwing up something I enjoy following and rooting for. I don't know about "deserving"...the team deserves whatever success it finds. I just think they're likely to find less success than they would have due to this seemingly irrational behaviour by Allen. Shame for me and for them.

Re: KP FIRED! (merged)

Wow. Lots of anger here.

It was obvious that the Blazers just wanted him around during the draft... whether to work the phones or to keep him from being hired by another team.

I'm confused about why he's being let go, of course, but I don't understand why people are so MAD about it.

If/when the team hires a retread/crappy GM, then I think I might be a little more upset. :)
exactly my reaction, the anger here is laughable. I think he was pretty solid in his role, but then I really don't know the extent of influence he had so I don't really know what they're losing. If I were deluding myself believing that he was solely responsible for every positive thing that has happened the last few years I guess it would burn me more. Heres guessing he did something wrong internally that PO'd Allen and maybe we'll find out what that is some day (I'd guess it has something to do with demanding more power) but I'm sure that there are other quality options who can competently do the job.

here's hoping they make another good hire

STOMP

Re: KP FIRED! (merged)

I WILL be fucking pissed IFFFF they put Larry Miller as GM

then i will be heated

Re: KP FIRED! (merged)

We are past the cake baking stage, and no longer need a draft specialist as GM...Time to get a gm who can make some quality trades. Was certainly not handled well from our perspective, but it was not a horrible move for the business.

Re: KP FIRED! (merged)

Nice trolling, MM, but I've read the agreement between the City of Portland and the former OAC. It's ironclad. The Blazers are going nowhere.

Thank god we have that or this team would be gone.

Re: KP FIRED! (merged)

Larry Miller couldn't punch his way out of a wet paper bag.

Re: KP FIRED! (merged)

That basically means just Ferry, and no thank you.

Doesn't really matter, though. Whoever they get won't be as good as Pritchard.

Most G.M.'s suck big-time in the NBA. All of them are too afraid to make a move because if they make a mistake, they're not willing live with the consequences. So, as a result, nothing ever happens with most franchises, unless they get lucky with a #1 pick like LeBron, Carmelo, Shaq, etc.

Re: KP FIRED! (merged)

It's a business decision. PA owns the team and wanted to fire KP but did not want KP to go to another team before the draft was over. Makes sense to me. I like KP and would have been happy to have him stay, but if he is going to be fired, PA did the right thing, giving KP a chance to make a big move and save his job and since that did not happen, keep him just long enough to not hurt the teams draft plans.

My, God! It wasn't a business decision. It was a personal decision of Paul Allen's. It has absolutely nothing to do with business. What business school did you go to that taught you that? The Paul Allen school of business where everything you do fails?

Re: KP FIRED! (merged)

Even I was ragging on Imaginary Cap Space being a reason to fire Pritchard, but this was just personal IMO.
